Downgrade to the latest Android 6.0 version and flash in Firmware Upgrade mode.

You are one of the lucky ones, like me, you have a rare UMI PLUS which is different from the others. I tried to downgrade to Android, cause i have a red layer when i take photos on android 7, and on android 6 didn't happen that, and other things like batery consuption.

In case you get your UMI downgrade, please share with us, how you do it!!

Firstly I must say that we not facing such issues between swapping firmware versions.
But as you mentioned such issues I can only suspecting that this procedure could help. Also please don't forget that other user already performed some other actions.
By my opinion firstly you should comeback to Android 7.0 with SPFT and full clean installation (all partitions checked),and then try do exactly the same thing for Android 6.0.
If you still face black screen you should comeback to Android 7.0 and then to Android 6.0 but try uncheck preloader. Hopefully this will stop overwriting some drivers.

I did that even before you suggesting it.
Android 7 works (badly).
Android 6 works with screen off. You can hear touch sounds, lockscreen sounds, etc.
If I flash Android 7 preloader on Android 6 -  total brick.
If I flash Android 6 over Android 7 without preloader (it's down load not software update) again total brick
If I flash only Android 6 system img over Android 7 it results in boot logo and nothing more.
I have tried many other variants, but none works.
With the knowledge I gained over time I would say that there are some versions of umi plus that might have a different display than others and the roms you published for Android 6 don't support them
