Since you're at this forum, I'm guessing you're only here, like me, because you have major problems with the Android 7 upgrade... so you're too late to save yourselves.

I'm going to have to waste a day and install all the apps and try and get my data back and onto my spare UMI super Android 6 phone.

UMI, PLEASE RELEASE A DOWNGRADE to android 6......

Well not to be a smart ass but if it's a spare umi super why not leave it until new update comes?. I'm currently on Android 6 because I've had a run with 7 but didn't like it so much. The issues are wel discussed/known here on the forum. Never make a major update without reading if it's any good. doesn't matter if it is umidigi or HTC or Samsung.

You seem to have misunderstood - I have 2 UMI Super phones - one I've upgraded to Android 7, and one I'm definitely keeping as Android 6.

I forgot to mention another issue - Apps that use the mic (Whatsapp, Skype, Viber) don't work properly. The person on th eother end hears lots of dreadful noises - so bad that they have to hang up.

This, along with the 3 Barclays banking Apps crashing, makes the phone as useful as a bricked phone.

The missing sound profiles pull-down tab is livable without - you have to use the 'Do Not Disturb' tab instead.

Why the hell did I upgrade??? (Well, all previous updates went so well that I trusted them with this upgrade, but was let down badly)

I have upgraded to 7 and noted that some apps are to be refreshed/clear cache.  Other than that all works well (so far).
However I am having battery problems (even when I was on Android 6.  Below are the details that I had mentioned earlier..
----------------------------------------------------
I had bought 2 UMI SUPER phones, one in November 2016 and one in December 2016. The one from December 2016 worked only for 2 weeks and then took 10 to 15 hours to charge the 50% battery.  i returned that for refund as it was within 45 days warranty.  The one from November was charging from 50% battery life in one hour until now.  This week, after 3 months of usage find it takes 6 to 7 hours to charge.  My friends were looking to buy UMI.  I have asked them not to buy any UMI products until this problem is resolved.
Anyways..what can you expect for this price???

There does seem to be an issue with Android 7.0 on the UMI Super. I opened a brand new phone today, in Australia, and as part of the set up, and restoring my apps from a previous UMI Super, that was damaged,  I was notified of a FOTA upgrade, so I thought why not? This is via the official distribution right?
Since doing this 70% of my apps will not open, and even after an uninstall/install still will not work. Is there are work arounfd to fix this?- I do not want to get into rooting phones and flash ROM's etc. There are a number of other forum users obviously having the same problem... please advise UMI if you are working on this.

So far the Android 7.0 FOTA upgrade seems to be working fine on my UMI Super. Upgraded yesterday.

Issues that have been fixed:

1. Most third party camera apps (Whatsapp, FV5, Messenger...) now render a bright and correct image as opposed to the dark
images rendered before. MAJOR IMPROVEMENT !!
2. LED notification light now works fine and changes color.
3. NEW battery percentage show up next to battery icon. GREAT !!
4. Improved call quality.
5. Much improved Doze handling of apps.

Some new issues with this upgrade:

1. Flashlight quick setting button does not work
2. Quick charging not working. THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM !!
3. Battery draining much faster than with Marshmallow.

All applications installed seem to be running fine ( 109 apps on my Super ).
Quick charge not working is a major problem as phone may take up to 5 hours to fully charge. NO GOOD !!

I hope UMI are aware of these issues and will release a quick FOTA fix for charging problem.
