Not to confuse the issue about intermittent BT disconnect (another thread), I'll start a new thread about BT power consumption.
34% of all power drain due to BT? I don't think that's really what it should be. OK, it's a percentage, so if everything else drains the battery almost not at all, 34% of "almost nothing at all" isn't much anyway, but I don't think that's the case here.

Totally agree with you. Bluetooth is eating up my battery too, even with Bluetooth scanning disabled.

This is a known bug in first releases of Nougat 7 (Even the first release by google had this bug) and before Umi optimize it with a software update there's a quick fix for this.

  • Go to Settings » Battery.
  • Touch the 3-dot menu in top-right corner and select Battery optimization from there.
  • Touch the drop down menu and select All apps from there.

  • Scroll down and select Bluetooth share » select Don’t optimize » select DONE.
  • Similarly, disable optimization for other apps on your device that you use with Bluetooth (like music streaming apps).

That’s it. Hope this quick tip helps in fixing Bluetooth battery drain issue on your Umi Super running 7.0 Nougat.

Thank you! Just disabled optimization according to your suggestions. Time will tell if it made any difference - Keeping my fingers crossed!  Post time 2017-2-1 14:55

If nothing else, this seems to have stabilized the BT connection. Tomorrow we'll see how the battery drain was affected.

I'm curious of the result since I've gone back to Marshmallow for now until the next update.  Post time 2017-2-2 03:51

@Makaveli: It's better - 16 hours from last full charge and no/light usage, BT is 26%
Yesterday, it was >3 times that much, so it's definitely better.

Comments

Good to hear that it helped. The next software update in a month or so will solve a lot of the bugs we see in the first released final version of Nougat.  Post time 2017-2-2 17:58

Is the battery drainage back to normal now with your smartwatch connected to the BT?

Well -  No. After like 36 hours,  down to 15% battery,  Bluetooth was at a whopping 84%
The connection seems better tho,  with no spontaneous disconnects. However, once disconnected (watch and phone out of reach) I have to toggle BT off/on to make them connect again. On Marshmallow, the reconnection usually was seamless.

That's a shame. Lets hope for a firmware update in a near future.  Post time 2017-2-5 03:44

Yes, if nothing else, the quick charge problems needs to be addressed pretty pronto, so I guess an update should be along in the very close future. Hopefully UMi will throw som optimizations with that update too.

I'm optimistic. Rovo that created xposed announced that it won't be long before we have a functional framework dor Nougat, happy days.  Post time 2017-2-7 22:00

Systemless xposed in combination with a systemless root like i'm running now on Marshmallow 6.0 allows me to use my banking apps that doesn't allow root. I just toggle it off when i need to use them.
I suppose xposed more for those who are into deeper customisation of their device which isn't for everyone.

The first time i had a go at xposed i didn't think i would be that into it until i saw all the different modules i could run to enhance my android experience.
