So I have a Umi Super and I was wondering if the Umi team has any plans to add a standby option to the notification led where it just cycles through the colors in a loop? Currently I keep a notifaction active on my phone to make it do this but it would be great if Umi could implement this as a standby colour option in the Android 7.0 update.

I think we have different preferences.
I do not like "BlingBling" and have disabled the Standy Notification Light.
It is finally called notification light.
Therefore the harlequin light only flashes when I get a message, email, call or other notification.

I do not quite understand the advantage of this option.
Why do you need it?

You can switch as default and then you will get a bit of each colour

Yeah but it could fade from blue to green to yellow to red to blue in a loop like it does when you get a notification that is not a defined type.

The Harlequin LED settings will work with the same (limited) functionality in the first final Android 7.0 version as it works in the current beta version. It will get back its full functionality in the next update after the Chinese New Year is over. The UMi staff will be off between 25th January and 2nd February. That holiday doesn't affect my job here in Europe, except that, I won't be able to get new info from the company in that period.
Just to add some thoughts to the discussion - The pulsating circle standby light is a part of UMi Super's design, that you may like or not. That depends on your taste but its presence was known before you ordered your handset. Personally I like it and miss it on later models. As a useful functionality it can help you to find your phone in the dark.

I never said I did not like the pulsating led effect I love it, I just wish it could be controlled with more effects.

Hi,
I totally understand where you want to get to.
Actually, I think the LED capability is limited to the colors you can choose from in the settings menu.
I use the app called Nine (email client for Exchange) that can set the Harlequin LED to any color by choosing that from a color histogram or color transtion circle (not sure which one, but imagine the colors of the rainbow).
Now when I choose an RGB combination other than the default colors supported, then it gets into a wild frenzy, ramping through the colors with the transition effect you would expect between the supported colors of the mobile.
So in theory it is possible I think, but...
What would be the benefit other than a cheesy color rotating indicator? I think not much.
Let's say, you get a text message, then a call, or vice versa, irrelevant. Would you check your text messages with higher attention than calls? I would check all reported events.
Of course, it is really convenient to know what to be prepared for, but if you wake up to check a call, then you are already there to check the text message, too.
Not sure if there is priority of calls over text messages or emails when it is about notification light. I hope so, never checked.
BTW, it could also be set in the menu which notification action bear more importance, so you would not stand up and check your mobile just because of some specific colors related to low importance cases.
E.g.: 1. Call, 2. Text, 3. Email, 4.- ... Other apps (in the amount of supported unique colors)
