After purchasing my Umi Plus E I've also bought a USB type C from a premium brand and it didn't attach properly. After further inspection I've discovered that the cable in the box has a type C attach that's like 1-2 millimeters longer than any type C sold.
I've also looked at other products with type C and it seems it's a factory problem of the phone. It will be almost impossible to find any type C compatible product.
It seems the only cable that attach correctly is only the original one. Which I think is a GREAT issue of this phone and should be highlighted by Umi.
I've visited my Chinatown, haven't found a single cable in 19 shops, tried different brands and still nothing that would work.
Therfore,  be careful before purchasing this phone. I only hope that newer products will have a official standard type C connector.
This is seriously a let-down....
Therefore I'm asking where I could buy another cable since in the major sites like Gearbest and Banggood there's no official cable.

Through facebook Umi directed me to the following links, both are products from AliExpress stores

https://goo.gl/nCn1id (Original Umi cable)
https://goo.gl/OBSrKp (they also stated this Bastec cable is suitable)

If you wish for a cheaper alternative depending on your location you could buy an inexpensive cable such as the following   https://goo.gl/sfszWr   and from a suggestion I read, could trim down the plastic coating with a Stanley knife, I brought these cables for a previous Umi model so didnt want to waste them, I trimmed the plastic down which is quite easy to do and they now fit and clip into the charging port, you could probably get away with trimming it down by 0.5mm however I trimmed it down by 1mm and they are fine
