My final verdict after 30 day usage of umi super
Pros:
1. Specs

2. Build and flagship features
3. Battery life
4. Software

Cons:
1. Camera quality
2. Weak Wifi/Bluetooth/GSM/GPS signals
3. Audio quality

Umi super will blow you away with bang for your buck specs and superb design and features. However, it is really frustrating that the basic smartphone functions are not polished or should I say, below average.

Wifi signal is weak
Bluetooth signal is weak
GSM signal is weak
GPS signal is inaccurate and really bad
Audio output is so weak
Camera and video quality in lowlight is very bad

These are common problems on umi super phones. My verdict is based on comparisons from other midrange smartphones I've tried such as Samsung Galaxy S3, Samsung Galaxy W, Alcatel Flash Plus & Flash Plus 2. It is disappointing that the basic functions are below average. This is the weakest smartphone I've tried when it comes to wifi/bluetooth/gsm/GPS/audio. I can live by the bad camera but the others are a big no no. I have been requesting for a software fix for these to Umiofficial but they suggest mine is an isolated case. But I know that it is not. Still hoping that they do something about these. Umi super is such a promising phone but UMI should ensure that the basic functions are solid and average at best.

I'm not ok with you, for me all signals are perfect ! Wifi is excellent, GSM is better than my Moto X+1 and my Xperia Z3 and GPS is normal. Camera quality is pretty good but laggy in the dark, and 3rd party cameras are dark (Snapchat is laggy).
And for Audio I flashed a sound mod very good so I don't know how the stock sound is.

That is good for you. Too bad I'm on the other side when it comes to my unit

How about your GPS signal? is it unstable and inaccurate just like some of the folks herre?
Sound quality from stock is very weak. Max volume is still very soft
What trick did you perform to address this? Do I need to root the phone? I hope not, coz I'm no expert on it

My unit's wifi signal has a weak range. I did compare it to all my midrange phones but it is the only one that disconnects after moving 6 meters away from the router. All my other phones are still connected except for my umi.
Same issue with bluetooth. the range is weak
For the GSM signal, it is the only unit that drops signal reception. All my other phones have signal to a certain network but my umi constantly drops to 1 bar to none. the signal reception of my unit is just weak compared to other cheaper devices.

It is sad coz these are supposed to be basic functions but my umi super fails to satisfy.

Don't get me wrong, I love the phone, I bought it for 150 US dollars. but it is just frustrating to experience the daily struggle of wifi/gsm/gps/audio. I rarely use bluetooth but it is sad that it is also problematic.

Pros:
-specs
-battery
-swiftness
-no bloatware
-sound after increase volume in engineering mode and desactivate the besloudness.

Cons:
-camera!! (poor quality, focusing is very slow and not accurate, very poor in low light, no OIS...) especially compared to comparables phones (meizu mx5, moto g4plus, huawei p8lite, letv......)
-Darkness / no auto-exposure with 3rd party camera apps
-On my model, images are awfully blurred on the right side
-deceitful advertising about the non-existent "magic focus" function...
-recurrent problems remains after each updates...
-no support service (or deaf, blind, and mute...)

How did you fix the audio? Do I need to root my umi?
How to access that engineering mode?

Umi super is a sleek and good looking phone. Especially that halo led notification light. Looks premium. Too bad its not optimized to its full potential. Camera is just bad indoors and in low light.

On the bright side, it is great that umi will update this to android 7.0 nougat. Not a lot of manufacturers can claim that as early as umi. So props to the dev team for that. I just hope that they continue to improve the software of the camera and also the constantly inaccurate gps, weak radio signals.

The Camera and the GPS signal are the parts that annoy me quite a bit. Indeed at low light the camera is basically not use-able unless you want some grainy looking pictures. With a lot of lighting it can make decent/normal quality picture though. Has anyone noticed the selfie-camera being glitchy lately? My camera app seems to display some streaks/artifacts on the screen and then crashes/freezes when I use the selfie-camera. The GPS has been slightly infuriating at times, It just goes completely off sending ''my current location'' to places that aren't even on the road I currently was on. For some reason it also often thinks I am driving backwards...?

Besides these cons I have no complaints about the phone. Unfortunately these two options are pretty important to me so I am not too happy with this purchase.
