GPS Antenna repair

Hi all,

does anyone have a solution on how to repair the the gps antenna for the UMI (not so) SUPER ?

I am willing to buy a new backcover, but I didn't find one so far if this would already fix the problem.

If anyone found a solution I really appreciate links for the parts and an explanation on how to fix it

I do not think its the antenna which make GPS signal bad, its the sensors that are terrible.

I got a new cover (well a used one) from ali express with both gps connectors.  It improved my signal strength to 2 or 3 times what it was with the old back cover I had.  I still wander around a bit sometimes on maps/pokemon but it's good enough now for me to be satisfied.  If you can find a back cover with both connectors cheap then in my opinion it's worth it.

Cheaper than sending the phone back to China for sure.

I ordered a new Battery cover as well from another store. Hope it will fix the issue.

Running RR Rom and a working GPS would definatelly improve my experience with the UMI (not so) Super

My final verdict after 30 day usage of umi super
Pros:
1. Specs
2. Build and flagship features
3. Battery life
4. Software

Cons:
1. Camera quality
2. Weak Wifi/Bluetooth/GSM/GPS signals
3. Audio quality

Umi super will blow you away with bang for your buck specs and superb design and features. However, it is really frustrating that the basic smartphone functions are not polished or should I say, below average.

Wifi signal is weak
Bluetooth signal is weak
GSM signal is weak
GPS signal is inaccurate and really bad
Audio output is so weak
Camera and video quality in lowlight is very bad

These are common problems on umi super phones. My verdict is based on comparisons from other midrange smartphones I've tried such as Samsung Galaxy S3, Samsung Galaxy W, Alcatel Flash Plus & Flash Plus 2. It is disappointing that the basic functions are below average. This is the weakest smartphone I've tried when it comes to wifi/bluetooth/gsm/GPS/audio. I can live by the bad camera but the others are a big no no. I have been requesting for a software fix for these to Umiofficial but they suggest mine is an isolated case. But I know that it is not. Still hoping that they do something about these. Umi super is such a promising phone but UMI should ensure that the basic functions are solid and average at best.
