Hey.

I just got on this page and as you can see, it says that the only phones that will get Android 7 are the Max, the Super and the Plus.

What about the UMi Touch?? It can handle Android 7 and we're still waiting for the promised ROMs!
Even the Iron and the Iron Pro can handle it!!!

I hope that jo or bencebacsi will answer to this.

Hi,

I regret to tell you but Google doesn't support the MediaTek MT6753 SoC (used in UMi Iron, Iron Pro, Rome and Touch) in the Android 7 build, so UMi is not able to release an official Android 7 upgrade for UMi Touch until Google doesn't extend the list of supported SoC platforms with that processor. So, unfortunately that state, UMi Touch can handle Android 7 is not true in fact. It would be capable but is currently not able. That's a different story if someone is able to port the ROM of another device, so please don't mention custom ROMs as examples.

If you post the source code of the Umi touc many people could help you developing ROMs. MT6753 is able to run Android 7.0, look at the Jiayu S3 Plus or to the Vernee Thor, the companies published the source code and now the developers made the ROM of Android 7.0 for them, 0 extra work, just give the source code to your community pls.

So to ancourage UMi you mention examples of such ROMs, that are not developed by the manufacturers and not based on the source code released by the manufacturers.
We have an Android 7.0 beta test program here for the UMi Plus but hardly a few users are intereseted. Maybe it's very important for you and for some of your mates but the masses simply don't care about an Android upgrade. So that would be better to stop crying and don't demand serious and never profitable investments from a company. When it is possible without hacking (the needed source codes are officially released with support) and it's about such models, that are still in production, UMi will take the effort to build Android updates for their devices. The UMi Super, MAX and Plus are such examples.
Vernee does not offer a single model with Android 7.x system in this year while UMi will have 4 models, Super, MAX, Plus and out of the box the Plus E with Android 7.0. So you blame the brand that shows just the best example.

Because we can't. Maybe that could be suspicious, other manufacturers are not different if it's about an MTK based device, couldn't be?
