Hello,

I bought the London because of it's advertisingt as a budget phone with a good camera and tughness. Well I just read the post of the lady that broke the Umi after a fall from a small distance. I'm also afraid of that, but I hope it won't happen. I personally have some issues with the phone. I understand it is a low cost phone, but they advertise it to be superb in the class. Well I bought it to mainly take pictures of my daughter and to have moment caught on camera. So in daylight, but you have to catch it perfectly(the sun, light everything) the photos come out ok. Just ok. Lots of grainy pixels. Almost all of the pictures are very overexposed(very white, coulours on photo are too bright, but very very white, and as I said grainy), indoors almost all photos have a white strike on the bottom of the photo when you take it(from the flash), but every photo. A lot of time photos are out of focus also. The video is very shaky and glitchy. I had phones with 5mpx camera that shoot so much better pictures. This is an software issue so I hope UMI will solve it (it has an sony sensor, so for me it is not logical that it takes such bad photos, with inaccurate colours, and as I said very very white photos. The touchscreen is very inaccurate, especially when writing text messages, I often hit keys but it captures the ones next to it. Battery life is awful. 10 texts, a few phonecalls, I send a few photos through viber, my kid plays half hour talking angela, and the battery goes from 98% to 25-30%(so much for the 5hour battery test). Umi should sell as an extra a bigger battery for the London(3000-400mah) when it is replacable. Otherwise  it is an ok phone. Just ok. The camera that is advertised as superb(that is not in anyway true it is ok but of lower quality), and the batteryy that is durable(and is not), and the inaccurate touchscreen take down the joy of using it. I now bring my digital camera with me just in case. I think other people have these issues also, but dont write them because it is an low price budget phone.

Thank you

Over the past week I have also tested UMI London. Here are the issues I have noticed:

1. Indeed, battery life is low. It's only a 2050 mAh battery. But perhaps the UMI staff could improve battery economy in a new software release (tweaking processor values, limiting the number of background and auto-start apps, perhaps reducing the number of simultaneous running apps, etc.).

2. The touchscreen seems to me to be too sensitive to touch. Particularly I have noticed a strange behavior while using it as a GPS navigator on the car. Sometimes the app would come back to the home screen, as if someone had touched the "exit/return" lower right button. After several instances and analysing the app log, the only conclusion is that the "return/exit" button was being triggered at random sometimes (perhaps to static electricity or something of the sort). This could be solved by making the button sensor a little less sensitive if it's the case.

Yes I think it is more an issue with software but I think even with upgrades not much will happen. Its just too weak in the hardware department(yes I'm aware it is a cheap phone) I took 50+ photos and entering the gallery is a hard task, it just lags opening them. You also see that the camera is not so good. So build quality is on paar, but I doubt it will survive a normal fall to the pavement, as the lady said and has shown in the photos.Nothing that costs 60$ is the best thing in the world. As for the battery since it has a replacable battery a simple solution is to offer a bigger capacity battery. I just think it is an ok phone for very moderate use. Nothing more

I have problems with Screen being very inacurate, touches dont register too often.
Cant install Facebook at all. Fails every time. Only way to install is from apk file and then each boot time i get a 5 minute+ wait as Android is optimizing apps. Clearing cache does not solve this.

Only thing is to not install Facebook at all.
I have no issues with battery life, in fact i think its quite good.

Hope its not too long for a rom update as i cant deal with the screen issues, its so bad for me.

Yes it is very inacurate, but texting freaks me out so much. I end up retyping for 5 minutes for a normal text.
And as I said battery life is dissapointing. Maybe London 2 will be more expensive but better. Waiting for software update. Maybe it will be better, but I doubt it will make a huge change.

Can we get some word on am update to address screen issues.  It's quite a problem to be honest.
I'm also noticing a big problem with the volume button being non responsive for 3-4 seconds at a time.

Screen is most important and should be addressed immediately.  I can not recommend this phone to anybody in its current state, it's not really usable.

Umi London is an Umi Rome X even worst. All fails in Rome X (Touch Screen, GPS), are in London and even others (Camera, Batery). Bad future to Umi phones if they improved his cheapes phone in this way.

Touch screen seems to be the most common issue yes. I myself find battery life to be good, maybe i got one with a decent battery in?
Anyway, screen responsiveness and volume buttons are my main problems.

Not impressed.

Same Problem here it seems its a Software problem the battery does not show correct percentage

when i woke up i plug out the usb cable and have 100 percent i read 3 mails and bam 86 i surf on facebook 15 minutes and its 82 percent and then its stucking at 82 percent for a long time then i put the phone on my shelf after 1 hour in standby it has 82 percent i read 2 sms and bam 64 percent its so wierd no atm i use a calibration tool and finaly it stuck az 7 percent for eternities - if the umi is rooted you can use root booster to improve battery life by 30 percent but umi has not rooted the device why ever i do not understand this

to the touchscreen Problem mine wirked fine the only thing which sucks is i often write with the right thumb only and if i hit 1 it hits 2 or b instead of a thats because my right hand touches the curved part of the screen so its a fat hand issue xd

i think its a Problem to push out one after another smartphone which wont get any lontherm support i bet the london wont get android 7 and in one year it will be hard to get a battery for it and then asian manufacturing companys are wondering why most eu citizens are buying the plastic shit from samsung and motorola i like the London it has potential it feels super solid speed is okay for most things the camera is superb and the screen has top colors and view angle but then deep inside i know i can put this in a trashcan after 2 years because of the lack of support and acessories

"Wireless update" and "System UI" are detected as viruses...
After running system update you get a update that says "fix minor issues" and that will break your screen colors, everything is greenish and looks like shit, that update was out like month ago and still no fix, are you sabotaging your own product ?
