The same happended to me.
The 2.5D screen is a real shit. I bought a new screen (70 €, and one month delivery still travelling), but I am not so sure if in a short time, the same will happen again. UMI should reconsider this design, many users suffered the same problem.
Moreover, as you, the touch sensor is not working, therefore the phone is useless (I have to recover my old phone)

It felt from about 30 cm, it was on the flip cover, and it broke in the middle
The touch in the bottom part is not working, the touch sensor/hardware buttons included...
I can't shut it down, i can't insert the pin since they appear are on the bottom part of the screen...
It's not a matter of design, is a matter of construction quality.
same problem for me crack on the phone and the phone is unusable. this is not normal. if we take samsung, iphone and other brand touch still works even if the screen is broken. umi sell design and not quality
The same happened to me. Just one week after receiving my new Umi Super it felt down at the street in some stressy moment, from about 80 centimeters of height. It was a perfect dive, it felt right flat on its screen. Despite having it in the OCUBE CASE, the fall cause big damage, cracks / bursts on the whole surface. The screen doen't work anymore, I can't enter my PIN-code. I can only swype down the small menu from above (see foto), nothing else is working.
Poor quality of both phone glass and Ocube-case!
