Well today i tried using GPS while driving to a known location , Drive was about 15-20 minutes. I would say the GPS was Super unuseable. The searching for GPS message was on display for about 60% of the entire time. Really bad. Hope it is a software issue fixable after an update. I had many android devices previously and this is the 1st device that i have that i had to downloaded a GPS test app to check on the GPS signal.

@ Super-User
Try this, go outside and open up Google Maps. After it has picked up a few satellites it should show your position on the map. Zoom in and observe your indicated position, it should remain fixed. I ( and I think many others) see my position on Maps wander around and zoom off 100's of metres.
I use my phone for geocaching, this instability in GPS position makes the phone unusable for this purpose.
Compared to my other phone I see lower 3g/4g signal, lower wifi signal and lower gps signal and I suspect this is related to antenna design compromises because of the use of a metal body. Just my 2c.

Yes the GPS performance is below average but if you are using oringinal umi super hard plastic cover, please remove it as it is known to jam the gps signal. There is significant improvement in gps after removing the plastic case but still the gps perfomance is quite poor.

Ok, will try it out tomorrow again without the cover. It deserves another chance to redeem itself

I do not understand why the function of the UMi Super is so different.
Here in the forum many faults and errors of UMi were reported.
For me everything works. Only with the two cameras I am very dissatisfied.
I use the GPS daily and could not detect any unusual disturbances until now.
My navigation app is "Waze".

The GPS is horrible! Usually I'm able to get my location, when standing still - but as soon as I start moving it starts jumping. Sometimes just to the road next to me, sometimes it doesn't move at all and sometimes it jumps 5-6 km., before returning to my "actual" location.
I'm afraid this issue is with a lot of MediaTek processors and had I known, I wouldn't have bought this phone. The crappy camera I expected and I'm okay with that, but these GPS issues are absolutely dire.
I'm hoping a SW update can fix it, but I'm not getting my hopes up.
