I think it's time that someone (me) pointed out that many people here in the forum seems to have too high expectations.

You have bought a cheap smartphone with super features and require that everything works perfectly.
If you want a well-functioning smartphone, then you should definitely buy a Samsung, HTC, Sony, Apple...
But this will cost you the 3- to 4-times price.
What do you expect from UMi?

UMi has brought a well-equipped smartphone for an unbeatable price on the market.
Yes, there are still some difficulties and points that must be improved necessarily.
UMi is working on the problems and has released already 4 software updates in a short time.

Here in the forum many people grumble about UMi
and only very, very few honor the achievements that UMi has so far been provided.

Thanks and kudos to the entire UMi team!
You are on the right track.
Keep it up and you will have great success.

I know what you are saying, I tell myself all the time "its a cheap phone"
That does not mean that as customers do not have the right to hold Umi accountable for not living up to iys promises. I bought the phone on the promise of a good quality camera with many interesting features.
Umi thus far has failed to deliver but are still promoting this mythical super camera when they know it is flawed and missing promised features (ie Magic Focus).
Its a competitive market place, if you fail to meet the expectations that you promoted then expect plenty of criticism. Im hoping eventually some or most of these issues will be solved by software updates.
Time will tell.

I absolutely agree, if something said in an advertisement, that is something to be fulfilled. But OK, they need some time, no problem. But in the forum we can tell UMI, what is wrong and what has to be improved.

What is strange for me, that if something was good, why it became bad after an update. I think about e.g. the fast charging, which was good, but now it is not.

The device is quite good, as a hardware. On the software side I see problems, and seeing the "improvements" I think UMI should think about to look for a very good programmer because the current one is not on the top.

Some says Ulefone ROM works better... Maybe it is not an accident. That should be reconsidered, but very quickly.

At this point, why not close the forum? What is the purpose of these pages other than to report problems, seek technical support and comparison with other users? The problem is that if I browse the catalog of UMI products are descriptions of the quality of the phones which then are not respected in practice. I am 57 years old and I am an electronic technician I have experience  since mobile phones weighed 5 pounds and I have owned dozens of devices from various manufacturers. I had confidence in UMI and I purchased one Touch first and a Super after both in presell  and both smartphones do not respect what was promised by advertising. I like many others do not claim performance typical of other devices but respect than promised for purchased equipment. I feel that product development is not completed before release because otherwise not explained the difference between the information on the card and the experience of real use. I have two open threads and are still waiting for a resolution to my problems. Just take a look in the forum to see that the Touch problems and those of the Super are always common to all users. The updates are not served until now to solve the most serious issues and this only applies to the Super because for the Touch are no new updates after the beginning of subsequent deliveries. Touch I lamented a clear manufacturing defects in the display but no one has offered me solutions or explanations. At this inattention to the customer how to replicate?
UMI has enormous potential in terms of ideas and ability to build great products, but they must respond to those described in the specifications whether it be products from 80 $ or 800 $. Sorry for my english.

I'm talking about ROMs of other manufacturers. Is Cyanogenmod a manufacturer? No it develops ROMS specifically for certain new devices and tries to make it run perfectly on those.
Anyways Cyanogen doesn't fix problems that samsung hasn't fixed themselves already and most of the time introduces new bugs itself. It only provides useability "upgrades" which some might like and others do not.
The ROM in question i'm talking about is from Ulefone, another cheap manufacturer. Ported by me, with no prior experience. The battery life has improved dramatically and software bugs like crashing on Maps dependencies are solved... I don't think that should happen. A ROM that has NOT been developed for the UMI Touch phone, runs better on it than the one UMI has engineered themselves.
Besides all that, you conveniently ignore my claims of them lying and misleading customers, besides them at least trying to solve the issues.

Rest assured that this might not be fixed. Because it should have been done correctly from the beginning.

It is so sad that good hardware gets bashed by Umi. Panasonic 13 Mpx get so bad treatment by the software department of Umi that it takes worse photos than my old iPhone 4S. Ulefone Vienna has the same camera and still it performs better. It is sad

OK, and if i buy a Dacia it could happen, that breaks don´t work each third time - but fuck up, it´s only a dacia, whta do you expect, it´s cheap and not a Benz, Audi or BMW.

What a bullshit, sorry. It´s not cheap, it´s only not a big name printed on the back to pay. An Infocus device is approx 95 Euro and it work quite fine and is equipped with nice hardware.

There are plenty of other chinaphone manufactures. So Umi will lost a big portion of its customer. @Super-User is just another fanboy.

My Samsung Galaxy S3 an S4 run better with CyanogenMod.
That does not mean that Samsung has done something wrong,
but that Cyanogen have done some things better.

This is such nonsense that Ialmost don't want to reply to this.
UMI sells phones by advertising certain features.People buy those phones expecting the phone to work like advertised. If thephone then doesn't work as they promised, it means that UMI has willfullymisled its customers.
HOWEVER, UMI has been nothing but helpful and willingto solve the most pressing issues at hand. I can't fault them for that.
advertising features, that are not actually present isworying however.
They and resellers have lied about battery capacitybefore. They advertise with rootjoy logos whilst not supporting the very phonesthey are advertising it for.
They use faulty heat shielding burning their LCDdisplays.
I don't think most of this has been on purpose, andthey certainly at some point wanted to deliver what they advertised.
But when you can port a rom from another manufactureron their phones and then let it run better than the original firmware, therecertainly is something wrong.

Edited by SUPER-USER at 2016-7-19 15:48 \n\nI do not understand where your problem lies.
My UMi Super works quite well.
The camera is like a Dacia, okay.
It works, but just not as good as a Mercedes or BMW.

I am convinced that UMi is working on a solution
and the camera can still be improved through software updates.

I am also delighted about the announced CM13.
So that is certainly true UMi SUPER.

My phone before i got the umi super was a moto g gen 1. I never buy phones that are more expensive than 200€ and this phone has fulfilled all my expectations. 1080p screen, gyroscope, a big enough battery and a decent camera. sure it has some flaws (better antennas would be good) but it's flaws i can live with.
