Poor 4G connection.

Where my Galaxy S4 maintained near constant 4G connection my "Super" has only had a few seconds of 4G connection a couple of times. Its spent more time connected to GSM then 4G.
Is this something that can be fixed by software upgrades or more likely to be a hardware failure?

The new OTA update has done nothing to make the 4g signal any better than it was before. I can still rarely connecting to 4g when my old Oneplus One had 4g all the time.

This is really annoying. The following link shows the 4g speeds I was getting before. Now I'm stuck on a pretty weak 3g connection.

I love this phone and have no other issues with it. However the poor connection means it is not fit for purpose.

UMI, do you think this is a hardware issue that warrants a return?

Dear users,

A new FOTA update is expected to be released this weekend or in the first half of the next week. That update will contain improvements related to the LTE reception too, so I suggest you to wait for that update and install it as soon as it will be available.

I've also bad 3G/4G (and also Wi-Fi) reception.  

If with others smartphones devices I've only 2 or 3 bars I've none with UMI Super !

I went 2 suburbs away and up a lookout and got 4G ok. It was gone by the time I got back down the hill.

My galaxy S4 never lost 4G coverage. I cant remember the last time it showed 3G. My Umi got 4G when I climbed a lookout but lost it again at the base. At home it switches between 3G and gsm.
Please explain!

I too have noticed this comapred to my Nexus 6. I see the Super flick between 4G/3G very regularly while i am sitting at my desk not moving. I am on Vodafone Uk,  but I never had this issue on Nexus 6. This will no doubt have an impact on battery life.
I have changed the setting to 3G only to save it changing all the time

Well I have same problem after updated first FOTA. Also there is problem whit whatsapp. Usually where I had 4G with last phone is 3G now.

I thibk you should make as soon as possible update or support rootjoy to upload old ROM.

I have just received my Super today and have to say I'm surprised at just be poor the 4g signal is.

My local area has a very strong 4g signal. On my Oneplus One I was getting 4g all the time and download speeds about 60 mbs.

I have only seen my super switch to 4g once today and even then the download speed was low.

Most of the time I have a 3g connection but it's quality fluctuates greatly.

Is this a problem that can  be fixed with a software update or will it need to be sent back to the seller?

I hope it can be fixed. I only get 4G in some suburbs now where my S4 got 4G consistently.
I feel a little like Ive downgraded my phone instead of upgraded.
Kepp those FOTA coming Umi!
