Hi,

I have only one SIM in my Phone.
When I want to used Messenger (Google Messenger) as SMS/MMS tools I have a message than says "No Proferred SIM selected for send SMS"
How to setup a preferred SIM ??

I am also surprised to see than my only one SIM is detected as SIM2.

An idea in order to help me ?

Excuse my approximate english.

Regards from France.

You go to "Settings > Sim Cards" and then choose which SIM Card you want to use for either Cellular Data, Calls and SMS messages. Then the phone will automatically pickup the right SIM card for your communication.
SIM1 is either a "real" SIM card or is a SD card.

Edited by PascalFr at 2016-6-8 18:44 \n\nGeessi thanks for your's message.
Selected SIM card is the number 2 (but it is the only SIM card inside the phone)
This card is mentioned as the "SIM CARD Preferred" for mobile data  (Cellular)
Call Option and SMS are not accessible and I can't modify this option

SIM CARD is OK because I can phone without trouble

1) Why the only one SIM CARD is detected as "SIM Card 2" and not  "SIM Card 1"
2) Google Messenger can't be used because I says to me "no preferred SIM Car selected" ... but it's false because SIM CARD 2 is the preferred one (impossible to configure as the SIM card One)
3) The Only one APPS usable for SMS is the SMS/MMS application embedded with the phone

All test done with an another SMS/MMS application doesn't works ....

I am the only one with this problem (not possibility to used an another SMS APPS) ?

If someone is using an another SMS/MMS APPS ... what is the process ???

Thanks

You have to put two SIM cards if you want to use both SIM cards. One SIM slot is detected as SIM card 1, and second as SIM card 2. How is your SIM card would be shown it depends of in which card slot you put the SIM card. I am affraid that in this phone model, card slots are different types (micro and nano, or standard and nano), so you have to change the type of SIM card or use SIM card adapter.

Bluenick,

I an not totally idiot and I can imagine than I need to pout 2 SIM cards if you want to use both

I have installed SIM cards as describe on the website (see picture)

My SIM card is installed on support SIM 1 and I have only one SIM card installed in the phone  .... and my SIM card is view as SIM2 by the phone !!

Second point SMS and MMS works only with the proprietary APPs installed with the phone and I can't used SMS/MMS with APPS comes from google playstore

Dear PascaFr,

Do you mean, you installed your SIM card in the slot not shared with the micro SD socket (the right one on this picture) but despite that, your phone identifies your SIM card as SIM 2? The standalone SIM slot should be the SIM 1.

Yes it is correct.
My SIM card is installed on the right one slot (regarding picture)
As you can see, this slot is identified as SLIM 1
When I try to used the other slot (on the left regarding slot 1) my SIM Card is not detected by my phone.

And YES my phone identifies my SIM Card as the SIM2.

In addition to this problem it is impossible to used an other SMS/MMS Apps than the OEM installed by UMI.

All APPS come from Goople Store have the same problem : impossible to send SMS or MMS (send or received)

The only APPS who give a error message is Messenger with these kind of message ""No Proferred SIM selected for send SMS"
The other apps says only "sending error"

Android 6.0 (Parameters - SIM Card ) detected a preferred SIM ... the SIM2

And YES all setting for my provider is OK because SMS and MMS are OK (sending and reception) with SMS/MMS application embedded with the UMI phone

Question to UMI Super owner :

- witch preferred SIM is active on your phone (for owners with only SIM card)
- Do you use the UMI APPS for SMS/MMS or an another Apps. In case witch one ? and how is your setting

Sorry for my approximate english

Regards from France.

To rule out the possibility of an existing software error, I suggest you to flash your phone with SP Flash Tool, choosing the 'Firmware Upgrade' option in the flasher application. That process will completely rewrite the whole software content of your device. - You will lose your user data.

Bencebacsi,

Thanks for your help.

No you need a Windows Client for this to work.

Could also be a Virtual Machine running Windows on your Mac but you need to attach the physical USB ports of your MAC to the VM then.
