This guide is about how to flash your UMIDIGI tablet built with RockChip SoC, using the RockChip FactoryTool
Attention! the official method to update the system software of your tablet is the wireless (OTA) update method, that you can receive automatically. It is highly recommended to use this tool only in case of emergency, if something went wrong with the wireless update (it cannot start, gets stuck etc.) or if your system is malfunctioning due to damaged or missing system contents.
WARNING! This process will erase your user data, therefore after flashing, your tablet will start with its factory settings!
What you need:
- A compatible version of RockChip FactoryTool that you can download on the same page where your ROM is available.
The RockChip FactoryTool application is compatible with 32-bit Windows XP and Vista, and with 64-bit Windows 7, 8.0, 8.1, 10 and 11. The compatibility with other Windows releases is not guaranteed.
Let's get started step by step
You have to turn off your tablet before starting the flashing process!
1. Download and
Extract the Rockchip_DriverAssitant_v5.1.1.rar file, then start the driver installation by running DriverInstall.exe.
2. Extract the ROM file (.img) from the downloaded .rar compressed ROM file. It's an uncompressed archive that contains all the resources needed for flashing. The flasher app will extract its content in its own folder, and automatically delets the extracted content as soon as you close the flasher app.
3. Extract the downloaded RockChip FactoryTool .rar file, then run FactoryTool.exe in its folder.
4. Select the
Firmware button in the top left corner, and brows for your .img file.
5. Your tablet must be
powered off! Now
press and hold the volume-up button of your tablet, and while keeping the vol-up button pressed, connect it to USB. Now your device is listed under Device Type as
Loader, so you are ready to flash the firmware.
6. Click on the Run button to start the flashing process.
7. Now the flashing process is being executed and it usually takes for 5-10 minutes to be finished.
7. Once the flashing process is finished, you'll see a green
Success message on the left panel. Now you may disconnect your tablet from the USB port, and power it on.
