Hello everyone,

I have a very strange problem with my Umi Emax mini, I'll try to explain it as best as I can:
- Everything works fine, but when I press the power button to lock the screen the tactile function stops working. I mean, I can press the power button again and the screen will turn on, but no touch will be recognized.
- This sometimes happens randomly: for example after a couple minutes, or when I power on the phone (which makes me restart it obviously).
- Except from this "random blocks", the phone works perfect until I press the power button or the screen goes off. I mean, I can set the phone screen to never go off and use the mobile phone for hours without trouble. That it what makes me think this is not a hardware problem, but a software problem.
- I can flash TWRP recovery but the tactile does NOT work on it, so I can't flash any other ROMs or anything (currently I am on "rescue ROM": http://community.umidigi.com/for ... ypeid%26typeid%3D54)

What I've tried so far:
- Factory reset (did NOT work)
- All wipes that standard recovery allows me to do (as I can't use TWRP) and then factory reset (did NOT work)
- Put the phone on Download mode and flash the "rescue ROM" (I managed to do so, but the problem persists)

What else could I try? Does anyone have the same problem?
Thanks everyone!

By your description, your issue still seems to be a hardware defection or the touch screen would work at least in recovery. In this case I'd try to
1. disassemble the phone
2. disconnect the touch panel
3. power on the phone until boot up with unconnected touch panel
4. power off the phone, then reconnect the touch panel
5. Power on the phone again and test it again

If your phone is under warranty and this issue still persists, then I suggest you to contact your reseller.

Thanks for the answer.
Is there any video showing how to do so in a reliable way (without risking breaking something)?

Unfortunately I don't know about a such video. That should be processed by a skilled person.
