Hi

My UMI Iron is in warranty repair for a long time (package was in the post for 3 weeks, over 2 weeks no one from bangood picked it up from post office, and 1 month at UMI factory).
When I ask in banggood where is my phone they either lie to me or say something like the phone will be fixed next week, every fucking time I ask them.

In addition they refuse to forward list of issue I had with the phone to UMI, so UMI will only fix what banggood will say they should fix - so far it seems they will only repair usb and leave old 1.5 ROM.
The problem is phone had 1.5 ROM that was locked at welcome screen, no going past it.
Recovery image was not working so optimal solution would be to erase that and install 1.8 with something better, somethig that works for factory reset.
My gps wasnt workin and my usb port was burned down.

Could anyone send me email that I can use do contact someone at UMI warranty?
Or anyone at UMI?

Hello,

You can find UMI's contact page here: http://www.umidigi.com/page-contact.html
However, if you paid your order via paypal, I suggest you to open a dispute with providing the tracking number of your return shipment and demanding a full refund.

Hello,

You can find UMI's contact page here: http://www.umidigi.com/page-contact.html

I already tried those, no one responds.

There is no "return shipment" - phone is in UMI factory and I'm sure they will fix it but it will still be broken if they fix only one thing.
The problem is communication, banggood has one dedicated person that responds to my emails - she cant speak English that well, she only appologizes in mails and ignores all the quastions I ask her.
Info I have so far is that they probably will fix the dead usb and battery - but as I wrote they wont fix other issues - I cant make that banggood person to forward other issues to UMI.
She either dont understand or ignores what I write to her.

I already lost like 70$ in tax and postal service cost + the phone has screen protector on it, there is no point in disputing 5 month old payment (July).
What I really would like to have is a way to communicate with those people, It just has been a fucking nightmare.

I'm sorry to ask, but how do you know that, your phone is in UMI's factory? If the banggood representative said that, you just shouldn't believe it. You sent back your phone to banggood, didn't you? So you should have a tracking number. I just can suggest you again to open a dispute (you have 180 days from the payment) since losing a partial amount is even less than losing all. You also can demand the cost of your return but that's quite a new feature, so I have no experiences about that.

The worst customer service in the UK is at Sports Direct.
That's why I never buy anything form them.

I'm sorry to ask, but how do you know that, your phone ...

I think I already mentioned that - it is already delivered, and yes according to banggood it is at UMI factory, True I dont need to believe that but I know that they picked the item from post office.

So for me only problem is how to communicate with UMI and make sure they fix what they need to fix, rather that what banggood tells them.
Beleive me worst customer service is with a drone behind customer service computer that does not speak English enough to iunderstand what you want from him/her - aka banggood.
I bought several item fro them and I had problem with every one of those items.

Well After month of waiting on any info I finally got info from banggood.

The story is UMI does not have spare parts and they are waiting for GPS module, the USB was repaired.
Because the repair is close to 2 months now and they don't know when the rest will be fixed they offered new UMI Iron instead of my broken one - lets hope I wont get another broken phone.

It will arrive in a month and I will report the state of the phone, I wonder, what is your experience with latest batch of new phones, did they fix hardware issues, sound pops and USB speed or they just sell the same phone, with the same sets of issues?

The click/pop sound and the slow USB issues have not been resolved. Defective phones are not used to repaired in the factory, that's not their job. Maybe banggood's own staff tried to repair your phone or they just did nothing. I still suggest you to open a paypal dispute and escalate it to a claim if needed.

The click/pop sound and the slow USB issues have not been resolved. Defective phones are not used to ...

That may be true, banggood sales persons lie all the time so that wouldn't be suprising - unfortunetely UMI never responded to my queries so I will never know if the phone was in their possesion or not.

I told you before, I already spent so much money on it that there is no point, I would just lost what I have paid in customs and in post fees and that is a lot of money. Also how can you open paypal disput on 6 month old buy order?

I will treat this as a example for the future and conclusion is:
  • Never buy cheap phones - at this point I would have good used high end android phone or cheap new middle range phone and I wouldnt need to worry if issues like above are solved or not, or worry if my phone will stop charging or any of the issues that can be found in this forum - and dont give me this crap that those issues are in any brand, no they are not - maybe in Chineese phones. I had many "western" phones and not one had so many issues like UMI Iron. Those issues present in Iron are called "showstoppers" and "western" phone wouldnt go to sale if one of those would be present in the ROM build or in hardware. Phones in western world are sold by network providers mostly so if second wave of testing on network provider side would find such bug they would make the phone producer fix it (many years ago I worked in this business so I know what I'm talking about)
  • Never buy anything expensive from banggood

Peace out
