I just recieved the phone in the USA and am using AT&T as my carrier .

4G LTE frequency band doesn't work and Im okay with that.

However when driving the 3G connectivity drops in and out constantly and doesn't stay active long enough to run Google Maps..
I really want to like this phone, however issues with GPS signal constantly dropping out during navigation and the poor 3G connectivity when moving is making me slightly regret this purchase.

Is there any chance there could be a hotfix for this in a future update? I have also made very sure my APN settings are correct.

Has anyone else in the USA tried this phone yet?

Thank You,
wllamb

I do not live in the US but you have to check out if your carrier makes use of the following bands for 3G and 4G Navigation:

4G: FDD-LTE: 2100(B1)/1800(B3)/2600(B7)/800(B20)
3G: WCDMA: 850(B5)/900(B8)/1900(B2)/2100(B1)
2G: GSM: 850(B5)/900(B8)/1800(B3)/1900(B2)

These are the bands supported by your UMI PLUS, if your carrier does not match them you won't be able to use 4G or 3G navigation on your UMI.
3G and 4G works great where I live (Italy), I do agree on the fact that the GPS is fucked up but UMI is releasing a software update in the next couple of weeks to solve that.

must admit i am disapointed from umi plus.
i own both umi super and plus (which i got a week ago)and both phones suffer exactly from same problems:
3g/lte connectivity issues
gps issue

3g/lte disconnects all the time and effect internet connection.
gps still jumps and not fixed.

these two same issues in both phones lead to my conclusion that the problems are not software but hardware as umi uses same specs in both phones.
thant really a pitty as i thought that umi super will be better.

I'm having the same problem as well. There was an update to the phone yesterday, but the 3G dropping issue still continues.

This 3G connectivity issue is something that should obviously be considered for review by UMI. This isn't an isolated incident. I was perfectly alright with being limited to 3G/HSPA+ use but the connectivity dropping constantly makes use of the phone on the go impossible.

Can someone from UMI comment on this issue and address whether or not it will be fixed? Otherwise I regret to tell other not to purchase this brand, I'm very happy with the build quality of the phone other than the GPS/3G issues...

En mexico me pasa lo mismo, me tendre que conformar a usar la red 3G porque no es compatible con las bangas 4G. El GPS no funciona nada bien y las llamadas se cortan.
