Have now for 3 weeks a Umi Rome X - the mobile is good value for money. Until yesterday, suddently I am not able to turn the mobile ON again.
On / off button seem to work fine but not able to turn it on.

When plugging the power line in the screen lights up and indicates that it is charging.

Button line - cannot get it to work and initial value for money is vanished :-(
Anybody has suggestions or ideas?

Thanks

Hi,

If you connect your phone to a charger in powered off state, after a few seconds the current battery level should appear on the screen. Can you see that screen? If yes, what percentage do you see?
try to force reboot your phone by pressing the power button for about 10 seconds.

Power button has also broken on my phone. It was constantly rebooted and then I noticed the button had no click.

So a couple of questions:
1. Can I remap the buttons so that Volume Up acts as power button? I have root access.
2. Can anyone recommend a good (cheap!) source for replacing the button?

Thanks

So I've been living with the broken power button for about a month now. I found a way to remap the volume down button but it only works once android has started, ie you can't power the device on using it.

My phone also randomly restarts now and sometimes won't power up. I'm guessing it's still getting a signal from the faulty button and this is causing issues.

Does anyone have a pinout for the connector? I'm thinking of desoldering the power button at the connector end and possibly wiring in a make-shift switch, or I could try to rewire the volume down button. I know it's small but I like a challenge.

Thanks
