Hi everybody... I've been busy for the last year and had no time to get in touch with this forum...
I also ended up deciding that was not worth the time I could spend trying to fix all the problems of this device and decided that was basically "working good" like it is.
So, after all, I like my umi emax mini even if I will never buy any other umi products.
I have a strange problem by the way..
Since a couple of days, when I call or receive calls (regular gsm or Voip) the audio I am supposed to listen is coming from the "ambient noise cancelling speaker" situated on the back of the phone. I am really surprised as long as I don't have any idea on how this happened.
So, the internal speaker is mute during calls (and I have no idea on how to test the hardware itself), the ringtone speaker works good when I switch to handfree mode and the mic is perfect when i talk to the other person.
The problem is listening, I put the phone on my hear and i feel like the audio is coming from the back of the phone... and, well, this is exactly what is happening.
Tryed to find any solution on the web, apparently anbdroid has no option to reinstall audio drivers or reset them up.
NO IDEA.
I can just say a couple of things to try and identify the problem...
I recently installed (and uninstalled) spotify.. related ot audio staff my be helpfull.
I recently plugged in the device a pair of Apple headset with microphone.. apparently working good.
I recently updated whatsapp (I do it when strictly needed from the app).
What I did to try and solve the problem:
Reset all apps preferences (settings, apps, three dots menu, reset app preferences).
Removed sd card
Reboot with earplugs (not the apple ones)
I am going to try a factory reset as long as CALLING is one of the basic telephone funcions I can not really give up with.
Sorry umi but I can get over the led, rootjoy, lollipop, sound volume, backlight, sim connections and all the problems we found here... but I have to make good calls with my phone. Is it that too much to ask?
Any idea on how to try to solve this?
thanks in advance.
