Ok, anyone knows how to get a cracked screen repaired? I live in Brisbane Australia. Any suggestions are much appreciated.

Don't be afraid, that seller just didn't take the effort to put original pictures in that add. TCL M2M has exactly the same shape and almost the same hardware as UMI eMAX.

There's normally a bunch of screen repair and phone accessory shops in big shopping centres. Just show them your eMax and they should be able to replace the screen. Also, check what they use... Cheap often means crappy job!

I hope this helps. We have these shops All over Melbourne so I assume it's the same in Brisvegas!

Hi bencebacsi. These shops are a all over the place and all have different names. They're usually little booths with accessory displays. They normally only fix screens for the major phone manufacturers but I have heard of a few that will replace others or custom cut screens to fit your phone. But, as I said, the quality can often be average.

However, they are not official repairers and will not repair as part of a warranty claim. But, I'd suggest that many cracked screens are not going to be covered by warranty anyway!

Thanks gruffles, that's a good idea. Will give that a go, no harm in trying.   Cheers.

Let me know how you go. Hopefully you find one that can help you out.

Just to clarify, I'm not talking about any Optus/Telstra/Vodafone/Virgin/etc retailer or booth. More those small "pop-up" booths in the walkway areas in the big shopping centres in Melbourne (I'd imagine it would be the same up your end). Just remember though, they are not official repairers and may vary quite a bit in terms of quality.

Just out of curiousity...
Could anyone get detailed specs of the Umi handsets?
If you know what screen is being used than you could possibly find a replacement on eBay for example.
These screens are pretty generic and used in quite a few other models from other brands.
Replacing the screen itself isn't all that complicated.

Have you had any luck aquamax?

Since the firmwares of TCL M2M run with perfect screen quality and working touch screen on UMI eMax, this spare part also should fit the eMAX.

Here's an online reseller where you can obtain spare parts.
You can either replace them yourself or visit one of the pop-up stores. I am sure they will do it for you.

You can buy the original spare part at Sunsky if you don't mind to pay an almost double price.
