Edited by danilx at 2016-5-23 03:44 \n\nHello,
I have some problems using my bluetooth keyboard (a Logitech K810 - Italian Key Layout) with the Umi Iron Pro.
I manage to pair the keyboard to the smartphone but when I use it there is a strange behaviour.
When I press the "w" key the phone turn off the screen and it gets lock immediately.
While when I press the "t" key the phone does not get that key pressed.
Apart from this problem the bluetooth works fine with my bletooth headset and with car kit.
I am on the latest stock rom (3.02).
Some one can help me to understand what is wrong????
Thanks in advance .
Bye

Edited by danilx at 2016-5-29 06:19 \n\nHello,
Quick tutorial for Bluetooth Keyboard
1. Go to the Google Play Store.
2. Look for the app "Root Browser" and install it.
3. Open "Root Browser".
4. When you open the first time it asks to install "Busy Box". Just Accept and install it.
5. In "Root Browser" go to /system folder.
6. Open the file "build.prop" using the "RB Text Editor".
7. Set the following parameters (which are already at the end of the file) to 0:

ro.mtek_double_click_support=0
ro.mtek_screen_gesture=0

8. Save the file and close the "Root Browser".
9. Reboot your device.
10. Once the device has boot the paired BT Keyboard should work properly.

Warning: the screen gesture and the double tap awake are disabled if you apply this procedure. To use a bluetooth (external) keyboard it is necessary to disable these features because they brake the normal behaviour of the external keyboards under the Umi Iron Pro android rom.

Disclaimer: the modification of the "build.prop" file can be dangerous, do it on your risk so don't blame me if you brick your device. Don't apply this procedure if your smartphone is not an Umi Iron Pro with stock rom version 3.02. Therefore only for Umi Iron Pro with 3.02 version of the firmware.
Thanks Bye.

Dear danilx,

Have you set the layout of your keyboard to Italian in the Language & input settings?

Just an illustration here:

Yes I already did it and the issue is still there. What should I do?

I suggest you to try your bt keyboard with other android devices to see whether your issue appears as the same or not.

Edited by danilx at 2016-5-23 06:59 \n\nI even used the following command line using a terminal emulator:
su -- getevent -lt /dev/input/event9
I found it in
https://source.android.com/devices/input/getevent.html
And the result is I can see the key code of all the keys pressed even for "w"  and "t"  keys but the smartphone doesn't operate correctly and pressing "w"  key the screen gets locked while "t"  key is not shown after pressing the key of the external keyboard. Is there any solution?

Edited by danilx at 2016-5-23 07:01 \n\nIn my opinion it is a firmware problem. What do you think?
Post time 2016-5-23 08:16:51 | Show all posts
That can be a driver issue or the problem of the AOSP keyboard app but without a such bt keyboard and an Iron Pro in hand, I'm not able to discover the solution. You could narrow the list of possible reasons by trying another kind of bt keyboard with your phone.

Hello I tried with the new keyboard.  It is a iClever IC-BK04. Even this bt keyboard has the same behavior. I notice that all the keyboard I tried are recognized wrongly as MTK BT HID so what should I do.??
