Hello,
I think that this would be a great feature to add in order to override the missing notification led. The two soft touch buttons will blink upon notification. In order to work (configuration can be done via Play Store app), this function has to be supported by the kernel. Any possibility to have the function added to future system update?

Hello,
I know that there is not a notification led on the UMI Touch . In order to have a very similar effect (obviously without the possibility to change color) if in the kernel is implemented the BLN function (there are many kernels from ages doing it), then when a notification arrives, the backlight of the soft touch buttons will blink). It's just a matter of software. No other hardware is needed. In the play store there is a BLN app that can be used to customize per app notification and many other aspects of the blinking effect. The only other alternative is to use the front flash .. but sure the battery will suffer a lot more. It would cost nothing more than few lines of code ..

I agree with you. But, for this reason (the missing notification LED), Apple has implemented in the ...

I absolutely agree with you, I just responded to the statement, that claims that, a 'flagship" smartphone cannot exist without a dedicated notification LED.

Please UMI,

Could you make your kernel compatible with BLN ? Thus, we would be able to use these back/menu button in order to get notification feature. You could be a flagship!

Dear,
It depends on the hardware, it can't be realized by adjusting software, there is not a LED for notification on Umi Touch

Edited by dalidah at 2016-4-26 02:19 \n\nReally I did not think that a phone advertised like the Touch, could not have the notification led. When I purchased it I really did not think about it. I could not believe there is no visual notification! You have to turn on the phone and check for new notifications any time. I tried a flash led notification app - it works but bye-bye at 4000mah of battery in few hours. As I wrote before many other smartphones override the missing led activating the BLN function: it's just a matter of coding and there are many examples of code in the web that could be implemented with little effort ...

I can not believe that a newly designed phone does not have a visual notification! It should at least do as UMI ZERO - flashing LED buttons "back" and "menu". Otherwise it is disabled telephone
