ROM flashing problems

Hi everyone
I am having problems flashing ROMS to my Umi Iron Pro using ROOTJOY.
I downloaded all the ROMS available form ROOTJOY but when I go to flash any of the ROMS to my Iron Pro it gets to the last step & fails
The message "Installing recovery files" and then below it "sorry update failed".....I click re-try many time but it will not work
Any Ideas because I really want to go back to original ROM form umi as the my notification light does not work on charge, and the battery seems to be draining faster
not even getting 1 day from full charge.

Hi,

Check with Root Check whether your phone is properly rooted or not.
If yes, download and run adbd Insecure, make 'Enable insecure adbd' checked, then try again with Rootjoy.

Did you installed a customized ROM?. This could be the problem because you can't install ROMs from RootJoy.


You could try to install official UMI Rom with FlashTool. After that you will be able to install ROMs by Rootjoy again.

I had the same problem with official ROM versions and RootJoy, no custom rom was ever installed and I got this error.

To cut long story short, perform factory data reset in settings and try again. It seems RootJoy has problems if phone is not at factory defaults. I had problem going from 3.01 to 3.02 and from 3.02 to 3.01 with RootJoy with same error. When I erased everything from the phone (factory data reset in settings) it went fine from first try.

Your observation is correct. While Rootjoy doesn't offer the option to flash your phone without wiping user data, it cannot properly erase the userdata partition.

How did you flashed phone? Rootjoy or flashtool?

If you tried to flash by rootjoy, you should try to flash by flashtool.
