I purchased this phone as it was promising the world andreceived it mid-January 2016.  Boy was I wrong.  I am running thelatest firmware and am still having the following issues:
  • ·      Crackling sounds when listening to music throughmy headphones.  Especially when trying to type an SMS or email
  • ·      Wi-Fi keeps dropping out.  I have toconstantly toggle Wi-Fi on and off in order to get a Wi-Fi connection
  • ·      Bluetooth keeps dropping out.  I have asmartwatch and it constantly tells me that it is not connected.  I have toconstantly toggle Bluetooth on and off in order to get a connection.
  • ·      Camera is appalling.  Nowhere near thespecs it states.  Photos are blurry and in some cases unrecognizable.
  • ·      Battery is lucky to last a day even if I barelytouch use the phone throughout the day.
  • ·      Proximity sensor is flaky.  I keepaccidentally hanging up on people as the proximity sensor doesn't activate whenI put the phone to my ear.
  • ·      USB type C connector is not a true Type Cconnector.  I have purchased additional USB Type C connectors and none ofthem work with my phone.
I have tried resetting the phone multiple times with nosuccess.

I know it cost me $250 AUD but the issues make the phonepretty much unusable.

This has got to be the worst phone I have ever purchased.  Whichsays a lot as I have purchased dozens of phones in my lifetime.

UMI has really got to get its acttogether as the UMI Iron Pro is more like a UMI Iron Poo

My UMI Iron Pro lasted me 1 month.  With the issues I mentioned above it has made my phone unusable.  What a poorly made device.  I would be hesitant in purchasing the UMI Touch as you will no doubt face similar issues.  It is funny how they compare their to Iphones.  They are not even in the same galaxy as the Iphones or Galaxy S6s.

Anyway I am cutting my losses.  I went out and bought a Huawei Nexus 6P.  Now that is a well built phone. It oozes quality externally.  The OS works well as it runs 6.0 Marshmallow.  It did cost me $850 AUD but it is well worth it.  I know the UMI Iron Pro cost me $250 AUD however when you make a phone at that price point build it with lower spec components but make sure they work properly don't throw in mediocre mid spec parts (especially the camera, what a piece of crap that is) as it just pisses customers off.

Will I ever buy a UMI phone again.  HELL NO!!!!

PS. One minor positive.  The USB Type C cable that came with the Nexus 6P will also work on the UMI Iron Pro. I got it to charge the Iron Pro and transfer data off it.

Edited by UmiIronPro2015 at 2016-2-16 03:17 \n\nHello friend welcome to the Umi nightmaire.

Please tell me, did you use an app to calibrate battery after you upgrade enw rom? After that did you used  an app to repair or check how the cells conditions on battery stat are ?

If you did not, use it, you can find it on Google store. Advanced battery to calibrate then Repair battery to see or repair cells.
Then tell me how much it improve to you?

There is nothing to do about it. Better go to your seller and ask for a refund. I also complain about it, UMI did ot give a answer, there is a ROM update, flash it or use Rootjoy. UMI is a DIY phone factory. They ars to small for solving problems.
Just read this forum and you see thats everybody here have the same problems. Not enough owners of a UMI to do something about it, because UMI have more customers who are satisfied with their phone then customers who have problems.  Thats an answer from Bensebacsi to my complaint.
And as a matter of fact: Nobody cares!

Yes I have already calibrated the battery and also repaired the damage cells using the 'Repair Battery Life' and 'Advanced Battery Calibrator' apps.  It fixed the damage cells and the only improvement I saw was that was that  the phone charged to 100%.  The battery life was still terrible.

After month of use and waiting it´s time to throw this phone in a draw and buy a new ¨good¨ brand phone.
This phone lacks completely any development of the or any other ROM to solve problems so the smartphone should work flawlessly in the sound and wifi department.
I´m very dissapointed because this phone had possibilities if the quality control in the sound and wifi was better.

UMI is not my brand to buy again.

Same for me.  I have had this phone for 6 months, done all the upgrades to supposedly fix issues and it did not help. I have a neighbour who has has exactly the same phone and has the same issues.  No answers given on forum..see issue re wifi above!  My wife has a very cheap huawei and the camera quality is way better than the umi iron pro drooper.
No more overseas purchases for me.

I have a UMI Rome and having the exact same problems that you people are experiencing.

The most serious of the problems is that the battery expanded to about 4 times its normal size and pushed the back off the phone. The battery looks as if it is going to explode at any moment. It is a serious safety hazard. My advise to anyone who owns a UMI is not to take it on an aircraft. The risk of it exploding and catching fire is very real.
