Hi everyone,

I've recently bought an Umi Iron Pro and I am using two sims with two different carriers (in Australia).

I have a problem with one of the sims, where my phone does not ring when someone calls; instead it goes straight to my voicemail.

After a lot of playing around, I have figured out what is casuing the problem. To explain it I'll call the two differnt sims, Sim A & Sm B. Sim A is what I want to act as the preferred sim for calls, texts and mobile data. And this Sim A is what I have the problem with.

So when I set Sim A to be the preffered sim for calls, texts and mobile data, i get the problem of not recieving calls (which go straight to voicemail). But when i change the preferred sim for mobile data only to Sim B, the problem goes away and I recieve calls. But of course this will not allow my preference to use Sim A for mobile data.

It is very weird and I cannot figure out why the phone is doing this. I have tried swapping sim slots but had no luck. Sim B doesn't have this issue.

Any ideas on how I can fix this problem? Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

hi!,

I have one question

Did you tried to use SIM A alone, without the other SIM inserted? which was the result?

regards

hi!,

I have one question

Hi Angel_UMi.

I did try just using Sim A alone. Same result - calls straight to voicemail.

I have figured that the problem is related to the network type. When Sim A is on 4G, it will not recieve calls. If I set it to 3G or less, calls will come through. Explains why when the preferred mobile data is set to Sim B, the problem goes away; since Sim A automatically goes to 2G or less when Sim B is the preferred service.

I re-checked the service frequency bands of Sim A (4G operates in 700MHz, 900MHz, 1800MHz and 2100MHz) against the capability of the UMi Iron Pro, and it is compatible.

I have also tried Sim A (with 4G) in other phones, and it works without issue (calls come through).

So not sure why Sim A has this problem with the Umi Iron Pro, and not Sim B.

Hope this helps in finding a solution, as I want to use 4G. Does this give any clues as to what the problem is?

Thank you for your help.

Thank you Angel_UMI,

I found someone else with the same issue. It appears to be not working for only the service of Sim A (Telstra).

Strange indeed.

On a side note, I have not updated my phone's firmware since recieving it. Is there an update that I can apply (that may fix the problem)?
