Rome v3.03 ROM - SPFT version

This is the SP Flash Tool version of the v3.03 firmware for UMI Rome

Flash tool operation is recommended for experienced users only. Do not use it if you cannot understand the whole process!

Changelog (provided by UMI):

• Accurate touchscreen
• Recording voice audio level is too low when making video, changed to voice louder
• System default sleep change from 15's to 30's
• The splash screen issue -- sovled
  

Install with Flashtool:
Flashtool tutorials: UMI Forum or androidxda guide or YouTube guide (you can google a lot of other solutions and guides)
ROM: n325bh_umi-rome_lte_fdd_20151230_songlixin_PC_ROOT.rar Extract the .rar file before use. The scatter file (MT6753_Android_scatter.txt) is inside the extracted folder, together with the other elements
SPFT: SP_Flash_Tool_Win_v5.1548.rar (use this one instead of the old version linked in the UMI forum guide)
VCOM driver: MT65x3_USB_VCOM_drivers.zip (still compatible with MT67xx phones)

You must flash custom recovery and then you can root your device) TWRP recovery for Umi Rome you can download on site: needrom

\n\nSometime the hardware buttons fails...I need to power of/power on by the right button .. can I use the front flash led for notification ? I'm a programmer, can I have a documentation for write an app whitch use the front flash led for notification  ?

Then Rootjoy is an option for you.

Flash this rom but nothing, 10-20 min  wi-fi conection and battery low 5-6%, what can I do ?

Hi msyld,

Many thx for this suggestion to flash. I updated my Umi Rome and it seems running ok from this morning!
Steps followed:
1- download and install driver "MT65x3 USB VCOM drivers" with disable of the driver signature verification in Windows 8 to allow the installation.
2- download and install flash SPMDT from http://www.needrom.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/Pack-SPMDT-v3.1536.00.00.rar  bcz i've got an issue "BROM ERROR: S_DA_SOC_CHECK_FAIL" when using "SmartPhoneFlashTool" )
3- Update the firmware (ROM) with using the last ROM version listed in http://www.needrom.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/UMI-ROME-25.zip

Today my phone stayl working correctly without pb screen and restart, even the battery level is from 50% to 35% . Hope that it will still working correctly!

Thank you for your answer. I could install the new firmware now. I had to remove the battery because when my phone is powered off with battery inside it just charges via USB and is not recognized by my Windows 10. However when the battery is removed and connected via USB the devices is recognized by the VCOM driver and gets a COM Port. Then I could install the ROM.

But now the battery drain is very high and just has a durability of 5 hours...

Or you can download firmware from this post and download custom recovery,change "recovery.img" in folder with firmware and flash all together with SP Flash Tool (you can flash only recovery if you whant and don't need flash all firmware)

I think ROM not already for Rome, it takes from Meizu Note 2 but nothing is change,system think and show battery 3050 Mah but in Umi 2500 Mah (if it is)) Touch not work normally,all OS little bit proposes. GPS,compass not work.Sorry for my English Google) Flash back Rom 3.03

\n\nI struggle to install this firmware. I've installed the drivers and they seem to work, but then do I have to put out the battery and connect it via USB or keep the phone on and connect it via PN? Every tutorial says something different, please help. :/ I have Windows 10 and Umi ROME. Also my windows 10 loses connection to the phone without battery.

After I install this rom, my UMI Rome don't see 5G wifi (Xiaomi mini router).

Hi !
When will be a custom rom fo Umi Rome  ? I think better rom can take from Meizu M2 Note
