Hi,

So I got the same phone for my girl friend, saying it's a good purchase for the money.

What happened though is that some while ago the phone got really slow. It works fine at times, but changing apps, opening home screen and new apps etc might take up to 19 seconds. Meanwhile the launcher and google apps keep crashing from time to time.

The phone's not clogged up. It's using less RAM than I am (about 2Gb) and only 7Gb of Storage used. So I figured it's a firmware thing, went back to defaults, but the problem was still there. I even did the SPFT update and the phone worked OK for the weekend, now it's so slow again, it's really irritating.

So I'm starting to think, maybe it's the phone itself? Or maybe the newly installed Instagram app? I mean, IG is a popular app, it shouldn't be too heavy? Especially if it's not using all the RAM. But what could there be wrong with the phone itself?

Any ideas?Experiences? I'm running out of them...

Hi,

I keep talking to myself, but just to keep updated, I installed Tinycore app that for my piece says a 70% RAM usage and for her about 90% while doing nothing. To me it sounds like there's something clogging the phone on the background, but I've checked it out a thousand times and no apps should be running. Duraspeed is also stopping almost every app from running on background.

Oh and the phone has started to heat up like really really hot... so I'm starting to suspect processor issues, but would that explain the RAM? I dunno.

best

Well, the phone truned off and didn't react to anything. The seller has been of no help, so I removed the battery (think I got a spark out of it, I hope not). Anyway, it loads again, the red/green light is there, unlike after turning off... But when I turn the phone on, it opens the Umidigi starting screen, and gets stuck on the animation (no animation, just the blue crystal image). I haven't gotten further, SPFT recognises the phone and actually managed to run a RAM check, but trying to start the ROM download results in a timeout error. Soo... that's where I am, and also thinking of buying a new MoBo, as that would actually be cheaper than sending the phone back to the seller, as I've heard

I wonder, if the C Note 2 motherboard would work with C Note? There seem to be more of those available.

Also I realise I'm talking to myself here, but at least now I've got some notes written down.

I ordered basically the only new motherboard out there for 43€. I made the swap, it's actually pretty easy, the connections are pretty self explanatory. Though now the phone won't boot, and I'm wondering, if there's a hard reset or somethign that I should do physically on the board, or something?

I'm pretty sure the new mobo should be better. The old one was clearly burnt, and they have the same S/N. Any ideas what to try to make it boot again? This is the first time I'm changing the main hardware, and I don't think I've forgotten anything.

best
