To laugh: Broken screen + Piece of advice

I was sitting on the floor, put the phone on top of a shoebox, and accidentally knocked it over from this shoebox.

Even falling from this ridiculously short height, the screen cracked and the touch stopped working.

Nowadays we see people on YouTube doing drop tests from tables, even top of buildings, but this device did not stand up to a shoebox!

OMG, UMI/UMIDIGI, you're a joke!


Piece of advice

As you may know, we do not have many cover options for this phone. I chose one (following photo) that did not protect the sides, because I found it more beautiful. Big mistake.

So always use a TPU silicone cover that protects the entire device (even if it is aesthetically unpleasant). Maybe even a flip cover, because the glass in this crap is extremely sensitive. If you use a cover like mine, know that you are taking a big risk.


NOTE: The glass screen protectors for this phone do not fit right, leaving large air bubbles on both sides due to the slightly curved screen. If anyone knows of a seller who already sells corrected glass screen protectors for our device, please share.

You call it a very nice job ? Plus E may have been  the first P20 device, but is and will also be the first and only one not able to get 7.0 due to umi crafting such a cheap motherboard than 7.0 won't fit in ! Shall we speak about the camera ? if you consider it is doing a "very good job" then check any pictures from a device 2 or 3 years old, and see which one is performing better ok ?
Then shall we speak of touch ID panel ?  
About Android security updates outdated since 7 monthes ?
Come back to earth my friend. Anybody with an internet access could come up in few minutes to like 10 devices within the same price range that would perform at least equally or better, but with a real and effcicient support (I don't consider "reset and flash" or "Go buy the spare part and have it repaired if it is not working" as an adequate support. Not in European norms, I mean)

buy a new screen on aliexpress, ask for additional glue strips (You will need them) and You will normally also get tools with it.

Search net for disassemble video. (this will do ...even that is for nolmal plus version, not E)

Be brave ;-) and start doing it.

When You come to the part where You must remove the glued screen You can use my trick... put the device on the direct sun exposure.
It will get quite hot but You will be able to remove the screen nicely.

When You attach the new screen FIRST PASS THE PLASTIC CABLE THROUGH THE WHOLE !!!
THEN take care of the angles with attaching enough strips there!!!!

reassemble, put it again in to the sun and squeeze the screen again (do it with some feeling, I used two books to do that)

...should work!

p.s.
To stop all this torture with this device UMI could give us a voucher for another device as this was really a bust!

Friend, you failed to mention that its a concrete floor. Most phones would have trouble falling on them, even from this height. I also own this phone, and have the same kind of floor, my phone hit it twice, it's still ok.

Except from this incident, were you satisfied from your phone? I personally am very satisfied, bought in in December, still works fluently and it's very fast. Android M is OK since it does the job.

My oppinion is that UMI did a very nice job with this phone, especially for the 191€ i gave to buy it, so, for me, they are NOT a joke!

I can assure you my friend I am not a troll, maybe you are, judging by the impolite way you chose to answer me!

I say again, I happen to be very satisfied with my phone, which YES it DOES work as I want it. Personally, I dont give a rats ass for the camera, I did not buy it for it, also, fingerprint sensor works just fine for me.

And maybe you should try other cameras from app store like Camera FV-5, really does the job!

I also say again, I dont care about Android N, since Android M works just FINE, no problems, super fast and stable device!

Sure, NOW you can say that if you look for other devices in the same price range, you will find many and better ones. Problem is my friend that like I said I bought it 8 months ago, and I can assure you that there were NOT any devices with these specs back THEN in the same price range.

So, like you said, get your feet back on the ground, and get your facts straight before answering like you did.
