I must comment: My Power 3 has yet V1.1_20200116_2033. It presented the known issues with the speaker and inmediate looses of incoming calls.
As soon as I disabled the Google Assistant completely the phone never failed again. I never had to reset it by any reason and it has very fast response in all its functions. Perfomance was so well that I decided do not take the risk to update to the V 1.2, it looked unnecessary.
Note the procedure is to enter Google, select "...more"/ settings/Google Assistant/Assistant/scroll to "Assistant devices": Phone/switch off Google Assistant. I also disabled the speech to text Google keyboard. Both are invasive and for me useless bloatware.
Note I use the phone the normal way, Whatsap, Teams, a couple domotics apps, etc. I'm not a gamer and I don't use Facebbok, Instagram, etc.
What I do need is a good camera and that's why I purchased the Power 3 tempted by its good price and the 48 Mpx. This was also bad from manufacture: the screen is bluish and the camera picked photos with even more Blue and lack of Green. Fortunately, after having a stable phone I could focus in to solve these issues: I found an app named Color Calibrator that permits to adjust the RGB levels separately and so obtain a decently white screen, plus a nice app named Hedge Camera that permits to do the same when selecting manual white balance. Now my photos are at the level of quality of the Xiaomi 9T Pro that I also own but that costs more than twice than the Power 3.
One more favourable point: The phone can last one week normal use without recharging its battery. |
