Edited by Fyodor at 2016-11-8 05:48 \n\nWell, this might sound like a bad time to tell a joke, but here goes!
How to have UMi phone with working GPS. In 3 steps only.
1. Take another phone, say Ulefone Vienna, which also has good audio hardware.
2. Using a permanent marker, write the word 'UMi' on the Ulefone Vienna.
3. Here it is, now you have a UMi phone with working GPS.
Jokes aside, I mentioned this specific phone because it has a full plastic back, that means radio signals penetrate regardless of phone orientation in relation to source AND there is so much space behind a full plastic back to implement proper antenna placement, that is size, distance between antennas etc.
On the other hand, a metal back phone must have all antennas behind these small plastic parts, close together, maybe not optimum design of each antenna due to space constraints. AND signal source must have a clear line of sight path through that small plastic part onto antenna itself, which obviously is not always possible, depending how we hold the phone in relation to signal source.
Sure, the metal looks better, but...
Anyway, I keep my hopes up maybe they messed something in current version, and even if they don't know what it is, it will be fixed in Nougat with the all new code and all.
Just my 2c.
