I think that will be better to install both apks having v3.02 installed

You only have to download both apks from internet and install.By this way you will not have any risk of some inestable thing on new version packed

But if you make hardware reset you'll loose them. And if you give it to someone who just wants to use it and doesn't know anything technical they won't know what's the problem.

Also, these apk's aren't that readily available since they weren't meant to be user installable. At first I tried to install this contact sync adapter from from the phone file manager and installer returned an error. I could only install it from RootJoy.

What's more, these apk files are not readily available, the one mentioned in beginning of this thread is from 2012, a bit outdated. It managed to sync my contacts, but it also pulled every email I ever responded to from my gmail account and added them to phone contacts which doesn't really make sense. Files I added to 3.02 are extracted from 3.01, they should be compatible/stable since 3.01 worked better than 3.02 (for example fingerprint unlock worked every time).

That's why I wanted more permanent solution, not just patch things up and hope for the best.

Tried to flash it, didn't work. Transfer goes OK, but after image was pushed it want's to flash recovery image and I get "Sorry, recovery flash failed" in RootJoy. It's the step where it should reboot the phone to recovery menu, phone stays in Android, no indication of anything that's happening. After that I tried to flash original 3.01 fw and got the same mistake, after few manual restarts of phone and one PC restart 3.01 flash went normally.

I'll remain on 3.01, hardware keys from 3.02 are nice, but 3.02 brought more problems than it solved.

Welcome to the club. So far I don't have any issues when connected via jack, but I get a lot of interruptions when connected via bluetooth. Among other issues, the most annoying are the WiFi disconnecting frequently and this bluetooth issue. If you purchase this device, you get a phone, not a smartphone.
I gave up trying to figure it out on my own. I tried to get assistance from UMI, but they are going around the bush, withouth no exact solution to the problem. They suggested a few solutions, but no relation between them and the problem. Good luck!

Hi Thotem,

I'm using spotify, videolan with earphones and all is working fine.

Could you try to check with another headphones if problem continues?

Any news about new update? Firmware 3.02 made more problems than it solved, no contact sync (yes, I know how to install missing APK but is it my job to fix your errors?), fingerprint sensor has 50% chance of turning the screen on, terrible camera quality...

Or should I try to sell it while I can still (hopefully) get back half what I paid for it?
