Yes,  you would need to fastboot TWRP to install root.

No, but you can install the OTA update and root it and then boot it without installing TWRP. You just need to boot to TWRP to start. Of course you then can't go back until TWRP is updated but for now it works.

anyway I read a guide on 4pda site that the twrp for latest version 07/15/2019 works ..

OK, so follow that and when finished flash the stock recovery.img.
