Edited by banumbirr at 2017-4-19 04:04 \n\nHi again,
After a complete reinstallation to the latest firmware, the smartphone has definitely problems with the GPRS connection to the 3G/4G network.

You should know that my network Operator “FreeMobile” has its own 3G/4G antennas network. For the nor covered zones, it leases the antennas of another network Operator “Orange FR”. These antennas deliver only 3G.

My tests on the phone are: search for network operators and select mine (FreeMobile): the phone connects to the 4G/3G network, this with the status of GPRS "connected". After I select “Choose automatically -> it stay on “FreeMobile” and the 3G/4G data stay connected.
I went for a car drive. As long as I remain connected to the antennas of my operator, all is well, I receive data in 4G / 3G. I'm going to an area where I knew I going to connect to the antennas of the other Operator: Bingo!! The phone has changed antenna, connected to that of the other operator and I lost the Data connection!!! With the status of GPRS "disconnected". In this case, the phone display a "3G r" (like 3G Roaming??)

I think the problem is at this level: when you switch from FreeMobile antennas to those of OrangeFR, the Z Pro cannot reconnect the GPRS and remains at the status "Disconnected"
I talked about this problem with my operator support and they recognize that some phone brands have a problem at that level. These manufacturers are also the only ones able to correct their firmware.

Then, I testedwith a SIM card from the OrangeFR operator (thanks to my mom ) The Z Pro never lost the 4G / 3G connection of the day.

I will report this problem to Umidigi support and hopefully they will be able to react and find a fix to their Firmware

Hi,
It's an issue related to the French FreeMobile only and affects virtually all UMi models. I don't know what's the case with all other Chinese brands but it seems to be a general issue related to MediaTek based smartphones. Since the UMIDIGI devs have no chance to test on and tweak the modem for that network, I'm afraid this issue will not be fixed.

Hi all,

I live in Italy and my operator is H3G Italy.

Hi,
I cannot confirm your issue. Please flash this ROM with SP Flash Tool in Firmware Upgrade mode.

Please release a new update resolving this issue or let me know how to fix it.

Country- India
Sim card - Jio 4G

Regards,
Mukul

Hi all,

I live in Italy and my operator is H3G Italy.

Same issue for me !
I am from france, I am using Bouygues Telecom op.
I know that 4G is working at home with good signal, I tested it on :
Samung S5  - 4G stable - average bandwtih 50 mbps
Elephone P8000 - 4G stable - average bandwtih 40 mbps
Elephone P9000 - 4G stable - average bandwtih 45 mbps
OUkitel K4000 - 4G stable - average bandwtih 50 mbps
Xiami note 4 - 4G stable - average bandwtih 55 mbps
On all those models : 4G have a really good signal with nice bandwith => 40/50 mbps average.
On Z pro... allways switching 3G / 4G and sometimes edge... - 4G NOT stable - average bandwtih 20/40 mbps
I desactive all baterry saving mods on rom.

Since last update network doens't work great: Did a full wipe cache + data + rom + dalvik + full re install with last rom => same issue

Thank for feedback.

Two questions:
  • Why it works withFW 20170321?
  • Is there any chance that it work better with nougat? (New modem?)

Hi,

Thank's

I have some news about this FreeMobile Problem (French post)

It seems that the problem is comming from Provider himself.
It occure when the Phone switching from FreeMobile antenas to the Orange FR antenas. In this case, the phone is going to a Status like Roaming(in the status bar, the network icon appear with 3G and a small "R")
and in this status there is no data. As soon ist connecting back to a FreeMobile Antena, the Datas are back.

(For the French FreeMobile users, you have possibility to know on what antenna you're connected with this app: Free Mobile Netstat)

I will call to FreeMobile Support and as ever, I'll give you feedback
