This most likely requires a hot fix and priority of the development team towards this phone right now.

Do you think I can use twrp to flash the original zip provided by Umi?

I don't think so. It did not work for me.
Use SPFT. You may try to omit recovery and user data but you will need to root again anyway.

I am seriously starting to think that the UMI team just do not know why the battery drain happens - and they can't find the main cause - maybe not enough info in regards to the new Helio x27 SoC from mediaTek. This is a good reason not to buy in the future the first phone with a new chipset.
Friends, i believe that we are formally the QA lab rats of UMI & MediaTek. I am still amazed how a company releases a product that supposed to be their flagship without executing a proper QA process. Selling the marketing about the big Sony battery and fast charge when the battery drain like hell, unbelievable.

Edited by silverblue80 at 2017-3-1 18:04 \n\n Edited by silverblue80 at 2017-3-1 18:04 \n\nNow i have my "Z" 2 Weeks, and after i read all about the bug´s i´am  happy with my hardware.
I´ve the last "UPDATE" ...

Whats working:

- Fingerprint works very fine
- DoubleTAB  works
- GPS works
- BT works
- WIFI works
- 4G works
- fast charging works
- earphone jack works

hope i don´t forget something

bugs:

- bad camera ( some pictures okay some blurred)
- led notification stop working after a message (so no notification)
- call screen flickers if i make a call
- batterie draining (after last update)- after the last Update i miss performance Antutu b4 = 108000  after update = 89000

I think UMI have a problem with different hardware or a quality problem.

Battery drain is indeed the major problem, and a big one.

Apart from this, I have no real issue with the phone for now in my day to day usage.

Hi Umi developers,

First of all, thanks for this update. Appreciate it. Are you able to confirm that there are battery issues please? and is there any progress being made in fixing it?

I recieved my UMI Z yesterday and instantly updated to the last OTA. I am really disappointed about the delivered overall performance.
I can live with the superbad camera (coming from a note 4 which hadn't the best camera either). But what really grinds my gear is that the ui is not fluid, its lagging and stucking every now and then delivering a really really bad performance.
And of course the battery drain is really a mess.

What I noticed in cpu z, there the cores never clock beyond 1100mhz, which is kinda strange and would explain why it starts lagging even in normal app load.
This does not feel even feel like a 100€ phone. I hope that UMI does fix the problems immediate or this was obviously my first and last umi phone.
