Umi Plus and GPS Signal

regret to advise that my new UMI PLUS suffers exactly from the same GPS problems that my other phone UMI SUPER has.
ecactly the same. lots of jumps and unstability of GPS signals.
actualy i bought the UMI PLUS because i thought that UMI have recovered all UMI SUPER issues and fixed everything on the UMI PLUS.
what a disapointement!
also 3G/LTE signals on UMI PLUS suffer exactly from same problems of connectivity i had on my UMI SUPER.

tried to fix both problems with 3rd party applications but failed to get them fix.

so i got to a conclusion that these are hardware problems (maybe cheap material) and not software as to my understanding, hardware of UMI SUPER and UMI PLUS is same.

may be we have to accept it bearing in mind the low cost of the phone.
again, i am very disapointed. it could realy be one of the best flag phones.

i bought it from geekbuying from pre sale 1 month ago, can i return it ? cause if the GPS is unfix able it aint a phone for me .

I received the Umi Plus today. I already read this thread and hoped that it would not affect me..

I did some tests and compared the GPS reception with my 'old' Moto G and the Umi Plus. The GPS performance of the Umi Plus is terrible. It keeps giving a moving speed when the phone is lying still with a clear view to the sky and connects to much less satellites than the Moto G. Maybe Android 7 will help us but I am not convinced about that since I suspect it is a hardware/design problem.

I will have to return this phone since GPS is a very important feature for me!!

Dont expect any software/OS upgrade will fix this.

Umi this only shows that gps problem is not an isoated case.
Maybe you should strongly consider fixing this. It is getting disappointing by the day that you are not acknowledging this. We are your customers and we give our honest feedback to you. Do not treat us like nuances that you will just suggest "an isolated case" and "return the phone to the reseller". We want to make this phone successful and with our feedback, it can greatly help you.

with gps test app i am getin max 18 feet accuracy, how is that good that is like 6 meters.I bought 2 of those and both having the same result.

I have the same problems with sygic and with google maps. Exactly the problem is micro-sporadics cut gps signal.

They replied basically by saying " There's not much we can do for isolated cases, please contact your reseller and have your phone repaired or replaced."

ok good. i try to tell every where that their phones have broken gps and its unusable and ofcourse i am gonna do everything to have it replaced and never look back about this company.
