Inside umi super, the pins must be correkt. The second pin was not good in contact. But I wright it before, I make a test after and it was not better. So I think that it is a software Problem, maybee the phone did not know where the satelit is or something else. The code is wrong? I don´t now
Sorry my english I am German :-)

The opening was not so easy, but nothing to see at the phone.

My gps work quite well. I have to be outside and get at least 10 satellites within 10 seconds.

I tried that solution : http://forum.xda-developers.com/ ... 465336#post67465336

Now, my GPS seems to work better. The reception is still weak, and I loose signal in closed area, but it isn't jumping from location anymore.

You should try, it's easy to do !

So guys, I am shame on me, I read a post, that the phone case can make problems with GPs, WIFI and so on.
So I take away my Phone Case and the GPS is fine. I test it by driving and all is best. So I show you the fucking case. It is plastic and has a silver border. And the silver border is the problem.

So my phone is ok, I only waiting to camera update now.

Please be advised that the SUPER's GPS quality drops massively when it's used in horizontal position, or if it is layed on something.  The antena seems to be on the top back of the device.
Try yourself, hold it vertical or horizontal. Put your hand at the top back, and the signal drops.

Actualy i have no stand for it in my car, so i did not a lot of testing.  But in combination of using the new gps.conf file and holding the device verticaly, my test with Sygic was positive.  At least not jumping around the map, as i saw it with the UMI Touch.

I found out the same myself, about a week ago; I bought an additional non-original UMI case without the "metal" borders and suddenly my GPS was working.
So I also suspect that the original plastic UMI case with the "metal" borders blocks/disturbs the GPS signal.

Frank.

hi!

Same here. I am in Hungary and the gps functionality of UMI Super is terrible. Google Maps constantly seeking for GPS signal, Waze is just recalculating route every 10 seconds because the position is jumping constantly. My Nexus 5 was working smoothly in the same conditions. According to GPS test 3D fix is acquired in about 5 seconds, but the signal seems to be very weak. I've done the usual MTK fixes like EPO file update, updating gps.conf with no luck. Very likely this is a hardware issue rather than a software one.  It's a shame because generally it's a very good gadget with a strong HW. Anyhow, let's see what UMI recommends...
