The second pic just shows how the components should stand and look like. You should check the pin contacts and also both ends of the black coaxial cable going up on the right side.

All looks like ok. Is there a way to flash Umi Iron modem in Umi Touch? I think that is the problem.

No way to flash the modem separately but not even the two modems are compatible. If that would be the problem, then all UMI Touch devices would be affected.

Same problem with 4G changing to 3G (on latest firmware). Checked with 2 other 4G phones on same network. When UMI touch does connect on 4G it has more bars than other 4G phones, but swiches over to 3G after a few minutes. That is why I think this is a software problem rather than hardware. (From UK).

Dear poppyfields,

UMI Touch switches to 3G from 4G when it seems to be more stable. You even can test your 4G quality in such cases by manually switch to LTE mode.
Follow this process:
1. Open the EngineeriMode by dialing *#*#3646633#*#*
2. In the Telephony section scroll down to 'Network Selecting' and tap on it.
3. Choose 'LTE only' in the drop down list. In a few seconds your phone will switch to 4G (if available) and you can test the local 4G quality.
If you don't change it, this setting will be kept until a factory data reset.

I too have this problem and after selecting 4G Only i can't make any calls. as soon as i dialled a number phone says call ended . 4G signal strength at 50%

This was take from my Umi Touch on test. No signal!!! It only work if I set to GSM only!!!!

No signal 4G/3G in anywhere I am. Inside my house, outside the home, in the downtown. Whatever!!!! No signal!!!! I've done tests even with SIM cards from others carrier. So what can I do!!!!

LTE WEAK SIGNAL FIX
Hi guys! I had the same problem, the signal was very very weak. The phone could get just the 2G network and sometimes the 3G badly.
I've found a solution, but you have to install inside the phone an additional antenna so do it on your own risk, my signal in my house became 34asu instead of 8 asu.

Ps: I tried to clean the antenna's contacst, put it in the correct position, put a new antenna( of a similar umi that worked perfectly) but nothing fixed the problem.
