Hi Everyone!! Do i have to download and install all of the updates? if i just install the latest one i will get whats been included in all of updates right?? Please help!!

Txs to MR01 I installed MTK engineering app made a change to WiFi settings (was dropping a lot) look ...

What settings did you change, It's still dropping on the 2.4 Ghz band.

Enable auto channel selection in the MTK engineering app, setup 2.4 and 5 Ghz with the same name/PW in my router.

Oke, did that but for my it's still dropping on the 2.4GHz bands, it doesn't happen on the 5GHZ bands.

Sorry to hear, must say that my problem was more that wifi disconnected a lot, wifi is stable now, do not need it for the speed but for home automation.

Hope that there will be more updates, really like the phone, but but's missing the finishing touch.

That exactly my problem too on the 2.4GHz band, on the 5GHz band it's working fine, so at home I don't have any problems but if I'm somewhere else where isn't a 5GHz band available and I have to use the 2.4GHz band it keep dropped when I wake up my phone. It's really annoying and they need to fix this issue.

I have given up my z2 pro by chance.  I feel UMI has lost the battle.

A friend of mine asked me to get a new smart phone for her as she has been using first generation of cell phone that still has a real keyboard.  Knowing UMI's problem with unstable/degraded wifi I couldn't recommend Z2 pro so I had a look at the other offers at the similar price.

I picked the Xiaomi Poco F1 that cost similar to the ceramic version of Z2 pro.  It does not have the wireless charge.

When I got the phone I discover

wifi :
Z2 pro on stock latest update can only hook up to my 2.4Ghz band at 144Mbps speed.  If I reboot it may do the 5Ghz at 433Mbps momentarily but it soon switches back to the 2.4Ghz despite I have a 6-element mesh wifi system that gives excellent wifi signal everywhere in the house.

Poco F1 hooks to the 5Ghz at 866Mbps constantly!  This is the same stability and performance as my HP Spectre X360.

Boothtooth:
My Z2 pro is slightly better than my previous S2 pro (also by UMI) but no match for the Poco F1 with which I could pair a bluetooth speaker in the garage while using the phone in the next room separated by a brickwall.  UMI phone has no such ability.

Camera :
Z2 pro has 4 camera but the shots are poorer than from Poco F1 which has 3 cameras.  Poco F1 front camera is a single 20Megapixel.  It is known the hardware and software of Poco F1 cameras were sourced from well established Xiaomi flagships.  Thus both their software and hardware are already proven and not in experiemental/development stage as seen in Z2 Pro.

Wireless charge:
I now prefer wired charge magnetic cable to the wireless charge as it is faster, simpler and more convenient in practical usage.  My experience is signal reception could be compromised if the antenna were not properly design and interfered by neighbouring wiring like the wireless charge package.  Personally I prefer the room to be used up for a bigger battery.

Battery :
Z2 pro has 3550mAH against Poco F1 4000mAH.  Not much different in real term as with Android 8 both can last a full day in heavy usage.

Memory:
Both have 6GB ram plus 128GB rom.  Let say they are identical in this department but the hardware in Poco is faster in usage.

CPU :
Z2 pro has Mediatek P60.  Poco F1 has the formidable Snapdragon 845 which is known as the fastest CPU favoured by the most powerful cell phones.  Poco even claimed F1 beat One Plus 6, Samsung and the latest iphone in many departments.

Speed:
My own record is Z2 pro Antutu test scored 137,404.  Poco F1 scores 265,064 or twice faster than Z2 pro.  This is made worst by the fact that Poco design team has actually optimized many of the Apps to make them load and run quicker than usual.  Comparing with actual using an App Z2 pro may take time to work while Poco F1 is nearly instant.

My conclusion is UMI has got a respectable hardware in Z2 pro but it has not been able to  deliver their full potential.  Poco F1 is a UMI competitor now that virtually kill off Z2 pro in every department.  I did not look at Poco F1 before buying Z2 pro because I want TF card external storage and did not realize Poco F1 has it.

I ended up keeping the Poco F1 for myself and sold my Z2 pro to my friend.  There is  no point of buying a UMI Z2 pro now if one can get one that is twice as good for the same money or even cheaper.

It depends where you live. In the state of Tennessee, I need all the LTE bands that Umidigi offers. Also, I really love being able to use wireless charging whenever I want. And NFC is a big plus on the Z2 Pro. Those are two huge features. Luckily I have not had any problems using 2.4 or 5Ghz wifi and the bluetooth is solid as well. So for me:

Z2 Pro wins in design, LTE bands, charging, and NFC
Pocophone wins in speed, battery, camera

Though the pocophone has nearly as many pros, none of them are as important as having solid LTE where I live. I think if only Umidigi made sure way less phones had bugs, it would be an even closer race.
Also I just don't like the idea of going back to a plastic phone. Even the more rubberized ZTE budget phones look nicer.

So overall, it just depends on what your needs are individually. I am glad you were able to sell the Z2 Pro and get the pocophone to fit your needs!

Wifi is always a complicated matter with MTK, i dont think is all Umidigi0s fault.
The same for photos quality is also a MTK-side fault because the cpu must work on the camera data, infact with P60 and newer we got a new level of real mega pixels management.....
Umidigi is at fault too but because we dont have sources we can say for sure what Umidigi staff have or can work on/with.

As consumer Yes, better not buy Umidigi as every MTK phone.
