There is a OTA version up, you can use it without the nasty flash tool, see BB's instructions re local OTA at the top of the page ;)
Worked for me, and no more stupid security bug for now.

I don't use Windows, I use linux. Is there a way to flash using linux?

Downloaded the OTA zip file, and the phone rebooted with the same issue. I am fucking done with this company and will never buy another product.  I have never had a worse experience with a phone company in my life.

Wifi is slightly improved, but it's far from stable. My old Umi EMax worked extremely well without bugs and mistakes.
