Switching from Wifi to Mobile Network does not work

As Android 7 not supporting turbo download as Android 6 Google decide to deactivate mobile data when your phone have access to WiFi but mobile data is coming back straight after be out the WiFi range.

That should be the correct way but the reality looks completely different,at least on my UMI Z
if i close the Wlan the Phon does not switch to Mobile Data also if i keep the Wlan alive and go out
of range from my Wlan the Phone don´t switch to Mobile Data it´s that simple as that only a Reboot help
As i´m sitting here on my PC i do all the suggestions which have been proposed here,including the last 1 from the Mod,
nothing of them solved that f..king issue
Also to say this is only a google thing is in my eyes a cheap excuse,cause about this issue
i can´t read from any other Android based Phone so........ the only logical consequence
is once and never again a umi smartphone because a back to Android 6 can not be a real alternative

This is what my phone does, i am at home, wifi on.
I turn mobile data on, nothing.

I go to work, by the busstop i am out of range of my home network.
Mobile data goes on.. (i did leave it on)

I arive at my work, wifi goes on and mobile goes off.

So do i have a Z with Nougat witch is working fine with this?

I never have to reboot my phone

Hi

Than you are a lucky guy and maybe you live not in Germany?
But i´m tiered to repeat myself once again i always have to reboot the Phone otherways i can´t go online
if anyone belive it or not it don´t cares me anymore

Nope, close.
I live in Holland, my provider is Simyo witch uses the KPN network.

I tried it also by hand.
I am at home now, wifi and mobile data is on.
I switch wifi off mobile goes on.
I switch wifi on mobile goes off.

That's how it must works, apparently.
But why does it works on my phone and others not?
I bought the phone, used it, installed the updates including nougat and never reinstald it..
Strange...

The Problem exists in Germany with Vodafon ( my Provider ) Telecom and O2
and in some cases in French.

I have only the real issues when switching around the 2 SIMs with mobile data connection.. so changing from O2 to Vodafone or other way around..
sometimes it is working for one time, somtimes a reboot is needed directly.
The flight mode is then also not working anymore.
I think the module which incl. WIFI, BT and mobile connection is then locking up.

So, the last few days I used the Phone i got somehow used to restart it once I Leave my home or workplace, where I can use wifi. But sadly, I had an accident with the phone yesterday. It dropped out of my Pocket on a Stairway made of stone. Unfortunately, the Phone ( Which I always used with a Hard Shell Cover) dropped with exactly the middle Part of the volume +/- button on a Stair Corner. Now it is bend towards the Inside of the Phone, so Using the volume button is roughly a pain in the a**. Because this phone really drives me crazy now, I´m gonna set it Back to Android 6 and search someone who will buy it with a little discount to my paid price.

hummm, if the wifi / mobile data issue occurs only with some German / French network providers, i don't think UMI team will invest a lot to repair this bug unfortunately :-/

The workaround of setting always wifi / mobile data on an let Android 7 switching to wifi/mobile data when Wifi is out of range is not a good solution for me. As i want to preserve my battery life, i want to have the choice to activate / desactivate Wifi Or Mobile Data as i want, when i want. It works very fine with UMI Z stock ROM Android 6 so it's a regression not a Android 7 "feature" for me !!!

as i can't stay without mobile data i go back to my old good Jiayu S3 (android 4.4) phone and i am happy ! :-)

i think i will switch my UMI Z back to Android 6 but in fact i am disappointed with UMI Z, average-poor camera (and poor default camera software), the body of UMI Z heats a lot without solicit a lot the cpu (just web browsing or app store updates). Well, if anyone would like to get one at a good price, i could sell it at a very good price because i bought it on dx.com presale with a very good discount vs normal price. Just contact me if your are interested. Of course the phone as no scratch, screen protected with tempered glass and i protect it in a small coathing wallet when traveling. i received it at end of March and so just using it a few.

I think i will go on a Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 with snapdragon 625 cpu, there is good discount on gearbest.com (about ~130€), i know Xiaomi (my daughter as a 5" Redmi 4x), never heating, awesome battery life, good camera, updates OK ;-)...
