Well, on my side I hope I never get a smartphone, that doesn't show the current type of my mobile da ...

I'm hoping we will see that text gone in a future update.

If you don't mind i have few more questions i would like to ask (without creating new thread)

Both Cameras are really bad. Specially the front cam. I tried few Different camera apps and all the same.  My 60$ Tab's 2MP camera takes better pictures than Touch's 5MP front Camera. it looks like to me it's interpolated from 2MP

Is it just a software problem or Hardware?

I too have one white spot on the display. it's really annoying when i want to use setting or any white background.
I remember on another thread someone from UMI telling to PM them so they can offer solution. (Thread is gone now.)  As i don't want to Deal with TOMTOP since they don't care about anything. and after all that drama happened about month ago. Do i have to go through them for the warranty?

Please, could you mention a specific model of a known brand, that doesn't show the current mobile network type on the toolbar by default?
Yes, I ask you to open a new thread for a comletely different topic or search for an existing and related one. In a such topic, I ask you to share some such bad quality and original (containing the EXIF information) photos to let us check them. Especially when using the front camera, you might need to clean the covering glass before taking a shot.

The big 4G (or 3G or E) shows the type of the connected network, not the currently active data network connection. We were speaking about the same thing.

True, but the issue is HOW do you show this. usually this is either incorporated in the icon with signal strenth or it is a nice small indicator with arrows up and down all in 1 icon (i.e. 1 icon size). With the UMI addition (which it is if you read my earlier post as other launchers dont even recognize this added text...), you get 2 BIG characters per SIM extra. So this takes 3-4 icon spaces of your task bar with non information if it could be included in the signal strength OR as some people asked for a small text icon with traffic arrows underneath like in CM ROMs for example. Would also be nice if this were implemented on all UMI phones including the upcoming Super. It is not a bug but a really good nice to have which makes the phone look a little more serious as well!

Those 3G or 4G icon are very ungly and useless. Please give as the option to remove them. We can see the actual connection when cellular data are on (small icons like patrykqopos post)

Dear users,

All other (MediaTek based) UMi phones show the current network type with the same looking graphics until back to Android 4.4 system like this model but this one is the first thread ever posted here about this "issue".
Everybody has his/her own taste that may or might not cover the taste of majority.
Each opinion is appreciated and will be considered by UMi.
Thank you for your understanding.

Regards,
Bence

Hi bencebacsi,

I just bought an UMi Super and is super indeed :-). Anyway, I'm with all the other people of this thread thinking that there's no need of those letters. It's not just appealing, it's functionality: the toolbar lose space (I'm using a dual sim setup) and it could be easily solved including this information in the indicator like other manufacturers do (my previous motorola was acting this way).

Up/down arrows could be cool too, they add functionality, but the really annoying thing is the losing space due to those letters.

These are my two cents, best regards and keep up your good work!
