Edited by dalidah at 2016-4-28 19:10 \n\nI have just tried the app LG Touch LED Notification available on Play store. The app worked on the UMI Zero and should work on all Mediatek 65x based smartphones. Unluckily I tried it on the UMI Touch with no results.
Here is the link to the source code: the developer has discontinued it (because all new phones have a notification led!). Please UMI or some developer could implement it or in the ROM as a feature or as an app?

I also miss the notification LED but iPhone 6s Plus doesn't have it either. Despite that, I guess we still can treat that model as a flagship or high-end device.

I agree with you. But, for this reason (the missing notification LED), Apple has implemented in the iOS settings the possibility to use the front led for the same purpose.
We can obtain the same effect on UMI thanx to third party app, but being an app, it causes a more intensive battery drain.
Having the UMI Touch soft led buttons, implementing a notification touch led buttons blink function would give users the same effect but in a more efficient way.

I absolutely agree with you, I just responded to the statement, that claims that, a 'flagship" smartphone cannot exist without a dedicated notification LED.

Well,

this can be amazing feature, I knew also late about the lack of notification led, but actually I think it should not be that difficult to achieve to use one of the leds from the Back/Menu button instead...

Please UMI,

Could you make your kernel compatible with BLN ? Thus, we would be able to use these back/menu button in order to get notification feature. You could be a flagship!

wonderful idea dalidah!!! I also were suprised when found there is no notification LED... Of course should be a future improvement that I support to do....but I think there are many improvement to do before as in the camera that sucks (wonderful hardware, worst software!!!)....but of course if it takes only a little work there will be a first improvement to make this phona as a real flagship...

Well, I agree for the led notifications with the buttons, but if it's made, make it configurable, let us choose if we want to turn it on or turn it of.
An other thing, the left led button should be the led who's blinking and the action should be the multitasking, not the menu.
