UMI Rome v3.04 official version by SP Flashtool

On my Rome this firmware is completly useless, because the phone silently enters power off mode after locking the screen. Then the phone becomes unresponsible and cannot recieve any call. This behavior cannot be observed on the plain system just after configuration wizard finished. To reproduce this behavior please install and run several apps, disconnect the phone from a charger, then press shortly power button just to  lock the screen, wait 25 seconds and press the powerbutton again to wake the phone up. The phone does not respond. Long press primes the power on procedure.
So this behavior makes the phone unreliable and unusable. I'm going to downgrade to 3.03 rom.

Let me try if I can reproduce this issue. I never experimented this kind of problem but let me try following your steps

Well I just finished trying to reproduce your problem with v3.04 and I couldn't reproduce.

Steps that I followed:

1.- phone connected to charger
2.- install and execute 7 apps
3.- disconnect phone from charger
4.- little press of power button to switch off display
5.- wait for 25 seconds
6.- little press of power button

Result: display switched ON again without problem.

At this case, maybe some app could give you problems or flashing was not really ok. As a suggestion, please flash again v3.04 and before install a great number of apps, ( I did tests with whatsapp, gmail, telegram, hdr camera, facebook, skype and moonreader apps running), install only basic apps and test if problems continue.

If problem persist, then is possible that you can have a defective problem on display

Dear Angel, I appreciate your support, thank you. I tried many configurations of 3.04 firmware: SPFT and Rootjoy versions, with standard recovery and TWRP, with SD card and without SD card attached. The phone  expressed the same odd behavior in all circumstances. Opposite to my earlier notificstions, it fell in endless loop of rebooting  process after screen got locked, regardless of the number of apps installed, the wifi state etc. Only during a charging process the effect was nonexistent.  Finally I gave up and returned to 3.03 version. The odd behavior magically vanished.

If the Umi staff was interested in this case  I'm ready to provide phone's logs and other supporting data

Which updates of v3.04 with rootjoy and twrp did you tried?. V3.04 is only published to flash by flashtool.

This problem is totally strange and more if after downgrade to v3.03, problem is solved, because I tried to reproduce problem several times and all time was working fine.

Now, that you are on v3.03 without problem, could be possible to flash again v3.04 with flashtool and check if problem is happening again wothout installing nothing?.

the 3.04 firmware appear on rootjoy since 28th march, do U mean it is not really a good one?

That's the same firmware in Rootjoy. You may download and flash itt with Rootjoy. I just recommend to process a factory data reset before flashing with Rootjoy. With TWRP you can install it even without wipeing your user data.

I have same problem. 3.01 was working fine, 3.03 was too. When i tried to install 3.04 my phone was unstable and i couldnt do anything because of constant restarts.
