A defective touch screen cannot be repaired by a software update but only by replacing it. If you experienced a malfunction related to the hardware, you should have requested a repair/replacement or refund from your reseller as soon as it was possible.
UMI is contracted with some resellers as their official partners, but - besides that, they regret every such situation - they can't be responsible for all UMI resellers of the world. I hope, you can understand that. All that I can suggest you is to contact your reseller to validate your warranty.
