Hello i i have the same problem with the display na umi rome Serving as a pressure dispay service works hard for a broken display will'm not damage it matter washed and washed Rome Rome x that are the same and can they be replaced

I'm having the same problem. Has anyone found a solution yet? I've tried everything except ROOTJOY. Done 4 factory resets, deleted all my apps but still no luck. Maybe there is something wrong with the hardware. Has anyone sent their phone back to the seller?

This is why I'm affraid to flash the ROM, in the fear of ending up with a total disaster.

Has anyone had any luck with this problem. I have seen the problem listed in numerous message boards but no solutions.

\n\nI ended up flashing to version 3.03 as suggested. But not without problems. I used the SP Flashtool. My first attempt failed and the phone wouldn't boot past the the UMI logo. I tried a few different things like connecting using ROOTJOY - no luck there. I also tried using TWRP - it connected but no luck in recovery or upgradibg to 3.03.

I kept trying to use the SP  Flashtool, but kept getting errors. Then I came up with an idea to just download each file separately to the phone - it worked - no errrors, and the phone booted as normal. The black screen problem has gone away and the double tap the screen to open now works. The phone now appears to be functioning normally.

Didn't UMI test these phones before they started shipping them? There's talk about upgrading to Android 6.0 - I think I'll be sticking with 5.1.

Dear, if you have tried many ways , but still not working, you should apply for warranty and send your phone to the reseller which you purchased your phone.

Did you try to flash your phone with SP Flash Tool choosing the 'Firmware Upgrade" option instead of 'Download Only'?
Each phone get passed a short test in the factory but that's not able to discover hidden issues, of course.

Believe me, I tried everything, including "Firmware Upgrade" but nothing worked. The only way I could flash the phone was to download each file separately to the phone.

there's a known issue with updating the binary in SuperSU, after updating, phones have been known to have a boot problem (black screen). just wondering if this has anything to do with it. i decided not to update the binary and it's been ok so far. i googled it and got a few results for it.. here's just one.

I have the same problem on the screen after bought it 1 week and when i saw on community suggest to flash new rom 3.03.  It is a few days after flash rom, it is happen again and it make me headache too much.
I have to setup sleep time to 30 min cause of when the screen go off, you can't see anything (because of the screen not display, it is in dark mode).  I flash new rom 3.04 and same problem.  The engineer told me to buy new LCD screen to replace that it not make sense to me.  I am UMI fan and uses Zero for a year with out any problem and think it is good that we can using rootjoy for update and backup.  This is the model (ROME) that make me blacklist your brand.

Anyway the Umi Rome phone sucks hard because of this problem. I can't trust another umi phone ever again...
