As a previos owner of Nexus phones and Xiaomi, that changed Android versions in their lifespan. I have a Xiaomi Mix 2 that had 7.1.2 when i bought it then went to 8.0 and now just updated to 9. I don't understand wht Umidigi can't do this?

Sorry but it's ridiculous to compare a high-end (at least 6x more expensive) phone with an entry level device. The Mi Mix 2 is built with Snapdragon processor, not MediaTek. Let's see the Xiaomi redmi 6 with Helio P22 (not the SD 625 version) and the Mi Play with Helio P35, both of them released with Android 8.0. Have they received Android 9.0 upgrade? No, they haven't. Can you mention a single smartphone model on earth with MT6739 (like the UMIDIGI A3 and A3 Pro) that's got an Android 9.0 upgrade? No, you can not.

What I meant was that I am assuming that the 8.1 and newly released 9 version of the A3 Pro are the same phones but with a different OS version. So why can't the 8.1 version be updated?  A work mate had a Zopo a few years back that had an Android update, but I will give you that it didn't run a 6739, think it was a 6753.

Just checked it was a Zopo speed 7, went from 5.1 to 6.

The cost of re-issuing touch ID data is annoying because it doesn't provide an easy way to do it
And the cost of reissue is not the same as the A3 series and the careless loser.

It is , look, here is an update to Android 9, but none of you can use it.  Why post it? Surely they knew that users would get annoyed that there is a update that can't be updated
