Dear bencebacsi / UMIDIGI,

The focus bug was already introduced in 20180829 new camera interface and thus continues in 20180928. Also some new bugs were introduced as can be read in the above comments.
Please have the developers fix some of these bugs or even better introduce a whole new android 9 version

Also there should be no difference in function of a version flashed via SP tool or via phone / recovery / ADB etc. The most user friendly method OTA should be preferred only for ease of use. Specific tools like SP flash tool IMHO is useful in case of brick problems or developments.

Idk how i can say this but the camera app works perfectly for me, it focuses at all ranges without any issues, and this comes from a semi pro photographer

It isn't the best camera overall but it works for a budget phone.
I'm on the latest ota update with Root and TWRP

plus if you don't like the stock camera app get Open Camera or CameraMX

DuckyTheDuck maybe you have the new revision hardware. Original Z2 firmware does not activate the second cam and focus main cam is random and mostly slow even for budget phone resulting in many failed images. Specifically disappointing considering the may this flagship was advertised by UMIDIGI and Gearbest.

@bencebacsi glad to have you back. There are plenty of phones (me as well) where the camera app is not even showing in the appdrawer (hidden) and whenever i install another camera app it says that there is no connection to the camera. the torch doesnt work either. Would you please profide a fix for this? thank you

Hi apog,

Did you flash your phone with the option of no data loss or did you fully flash the phone, losing your data?

I think I'll flash the phone with the same version as you and keep it for now.

I can live with a bug on settings search, but I can't have a phone where the camera is not working properly.

Hello guys, anyone have seen this? Happened after I accidentally format nvram. Stays all the time in te upper right corner of screen.

I have the old z2 that i bought near release, it was clear that you can't get a flagship at 200-250$, and i've seen worse cameras on samsung devices, and yes the focus is slow but if you learn to use it it's not that big of a deal honestly (Maybe i am a bit biased since i have a proper DSLR with me almost everywhere and i take the pics with it and transfer them via otg directly to my phone mainly, and i use the phone camera as a dast way to share stuff not to take proper pics with it)

For the ones that are facing problems with camera not focusing, do as apog did, and flash the version UMIDIGI Z2 V1.0_20180726 in Firmware Upgrade mode to perform a clean install.

I've done it yesterday and camera is working correctly.
