Hello -

UMIDIGI Z1 Pro - V7.01_20170710

Bought the Zi a few months ago... I love it, even if I have to use TMobile 3G here in the USA.
Bought the phone with Android 6. I could not adjust or set the proximity sensor (returned: Invalid values) thru the standard settings. But everything seemed to work fine, so I ignored it. I was using a dialer (Drupe).. excellent program..
Upgraded to V7.01_20170710 and began having problems with incoming phone calls. Phone notifies me of the call (screen goes on), but then it immediately turns the screen off. Phone still rings.

I downloaded an app and could re-set the proximity sensor but it would work intermittently and then return to shutting off the screen after the first ring, making it terribly difficult to answer the phone. If the screen is already on, no problems when a call comes in, I can answer it. However if the phone is snoozing with the screen off, it will ring.. flash on and then immediately go dark. Then I try to very very fast to push the power button and try to answer.
I have used other dialers... and the stock dialer.. nothing helps.

I went into the engineering mode to try and see what I could do. I can access the Proximity sensor in engineering mode.. however despite its simplicity I'm not totally sure I'm doing it correctly.. any help with very specific instructions would be very valuable. At the moment the High threshold is 174 and the Low threshold is 174. The min value is 202 and the Max value is 193.. When I calculate the Min value it is 196, when I calculate the Max value it is 752. I then click Do calibration and  it returns Min value 209 and Max value at 195. It says Result PASS. Am I doing this right? I cover and uncover the sensor as instructed.

In the engineering mode I can test light sensor within the Proximity setting and uncovered the sensor gives me a value... and then as I close off the light that value goes down to 1023. I can also access the Change Threshold panel.. but no values are listed, everything is blank.

Suggestions??
Many thanx
Russj

Wonderful, tomorrow i will send mytic car. The umidigi car. Low cost, you can drive it, but if you want turn on right, its not possible, because the mecanic mens are just thinking about another car you can buy in a few time. Its like umidigi ! i bought a z pro, thinking its a a good phone. I think its good, but i update and no blutooth, problems drain battery, very bad camero quality for a imx sony sensor who works perfectly on anather compagny.
What is the problem Bencebacsi ? Give us the source code, its the minimal thing you can do after we give us our money for a phone who for working i have to install NOA H10 Rom  MM. Its a shame, i give us money and confiance since march, and what is going on ? nothing.
I can see another modele who is coming, i think all buyers of your products must make a mass procédure in justice to show over the world what is your politic. You nerver give great response, and we are waiting for nothing. I dont think ther is a really development of our z pro rom. My sensasion ? i bought a phone like a car without direction and motors.
Thanks Umidigi for your joke but now i dont smiling a lot.
No response, no refund, just problems....its not what i waiting of you when i command my z pro in marsh
Ther is just a solution, the source code, and just this...
Whhat have you to response this ? Hey guy, wait we are working....lol and lol...If i want to smile, i doesn''t buy a phone i go to the theater !

Hello -

UMIDIGI Z1 Pro - V7.01_20170710

Hi,
Please remove your proximity sensor tweaking app (if you still have it installed), then calibrate the proximity sensor in Settings --> Display (near to the bottom in the Display menu). That's simpler than explain how to use the calibration in engineer mode.

I did... it is long gone.

Sorry if you missed in the midst of my explanations... I did do that, repeatedly... and it returns this:

Als_ps
Calibration fail (error to get a valid, please obtain a valid value again)

That's all... same response every time..

Thanx

It seems you quoted the error message displayed by the sensor testing app in the engineer mode. So did you try to perform the calibration in the phone's Settings --> Display menu?

I can't reproduce any of your issues. Did you at least flashed this ROM with SP Flash Tool? Could you please record and share a video that demonstrates all of your issues as possible?

I was running the same ROm v4.01
This seems to be an internal rom for umidigi developers or something like that.
At least it's not a public rom .
I've made the upgrade by flash tool and several hard resets.....
Check my posts #110 on page 11.... After that my phone is running like a pro.
