Hello,

That's exactly what I did: I never tried to restore backup, I rsetup again the phone from scratch, as if it were new.

In view of all the comments I read on this forum: please accept that your Android 7 firmware is unstable and causes the phone to reboot without reason regularly.

Sincerely.

If you like such statistics, you should compare only those threads where the first version of an Android upgrade was published (57 pages at UMi Super), also considering the popularity of each model, plus many other factors. So overall, such statistics maybe don't really make sense.
Sorry but I cannot analyze a specific device and rund tests on it remotely. So in many cases but still just in a fragment of cases, I can recommend only to create a clean installation with SP Flash Tool. Using that tool is quite simple but if that's still to complicated for someone, he can choose to return his device for the seller to make it repaired. I suggest you to get through on this thread again, and you'll see that, beside the many positive feedback, each complaining user has reported different or at least not perfectly the same issues or something that's not really an issue, 'Do not disturb' mode while in call and the black notification bar, for example.

(Probably) unlike you, now I really got through on this whole thread and only one other user reported random reboot issues. I don't know whether he flashed his phone or just OTA updated, but later he disappeared. Moreover, we cannot reproduce your issue, although some of us use UMIDIGI Z phones as daily drivers.
Your phone should be examined by a skilled repairman. I'm sure I could find the source of the issue of your device by proper testing but not remotely.
As a final experiment, I recommend you to format the flash chip of your phone (or flash this ROM with the Format All +Download option) to make the nvram partition cleaned. If you do so, then you have to restore your IMEI numbers with the SN Writer Tool.

Hi,
By Imagiq features I also meant the video stabilisation and slow motion features.
This is taken from the Mediatek official website:

In addition to image quality enhancements, Imagiq also offers a rich set of videography features:

  • Electronic image stabilization (EIS) and Gyro – Using a sophisticated hardware engine to predict motion, Imagiq eliminates a video’s camera shake and distortion.
  • 1/32 Super-Slow Motion – In addition to supporting 720p video, Imagiq can shoot 1080p video at 480 frames per second in 1/32 super-slow motion playback, resulting in a 960 FPS video. Users are also able to edit videos using super-slow motion.
  • Temporal Noise Reduction – Imagiq uses advanced temporal noise reduction to locate and reduce pixel movement in videos, resulting in cleaner and more detailed video quality in both video previews and filming.
  • 4K HDR Shooting – Support 4K HDR shooting for the first time, producing more compelling video image quality.

MediaTek high-end mobile systems on chip (SoCs) ranging from the currently released MediaTek helio P20 and MediaTek helio X20 to future SoCs will use the Imagiq ISP, allowing smartphone manufacturers to customize their choice of Imagiq’s features according to their needs.

So the Helio X27 must support the above features. We can at least get the EIS and Gyro video stabilisation and 1/32 slow motion video in our UMIDIGI Z/ Z Pro. These would be great features if UMIDIGI can exploit the Helio X27 at its best.

Not all Imagiq features are supported by the current MTK SoCs. EIS can be implemented in the future, slow motion surely not.

The installation I made of ROM 7.1.1, with firmwarewarem upgrade, was without restoring any backup, new installation. I started the camera app shortly after finishing the initial setup. I ended up leaving with the ROM of Android 6, until a new update of ROM 7.1.1 comes out.

Issue can't be replicated doesn't mean that it does not exists,
also someone complaining that got disappeared doesn't mean that his issue resolved, he may be tired of explaining.

Why don't digi develop their own device logging application and ask issue reporter to provide those logs to investigate ?
